The Lyrics

For those who are thinking 'WTF?', 'phut' means, in this sense, when the lights go out, or something like that. In this case, it's my computer that went 'phut'.
Turning on the computer, sit in my swivel seat
Turn on Windows Media, groove to the funky beat
Open up Mozilla and open MSN
Loading takes forever, then the net screws up again!

And my Daddy knows how I am feeling
Cause his PC has stuffed up as well
We do not know why these things just keep on breaking
All that we know is they belong in Silicon Hell

Way too many wires and they're in such a state
Make a puff of sparks ev'ry time I don't look at 'em straight
Nothing I can do, except just gawp and gape
The one who can fix this prob'ly wears a cape

Plus my brother knows all that is happ'ning
His laptop just doesn't wanna work
Though the same could be said of my little brother
I must stop staring at the comp like a fat berk

Ooh la la la la la la la la la la la
Ooh la la la la la la la la la la la
Ooh la la la la la la la la la la la
Ooh la la la la la la la la la la la

Better get a grip on the sich
I better find the blimmin' duct tape...
Better get a hold of the tape
I have to hold this mess together
Can't stop the tape gripping myself
I better start being more clever
Why can't the the tape grip on the wires?
This better work, and stick together
Better get some more duct tape soon
I need more tape to stick the wires with
Gotta get a grip on myself
This will not work, nor stick together

I called up the techie, but he still ain't got here
So I pull my Gameboy out and play it in despair
The techie fin'lly gets here, and then he starts to stare
He's found some soapy bubbles and asks 'Why are THEY there?'

I say 'Cousin knows exactly nothing
And I had said that my hard drive is clean
And then she thought that it was not quite so clean so
She gave it a wash' Laughed so hard, burst his spleen!

Ooh la la la la la la la la la la la
Ooh la la la la la la la la la la la
Ooh la la la la la la la la la la la
Ooh la la la la la la la la la la la
I'd like to know which jellybrain nominated this group for Artistry!

this is a lesser known Skyhooks song, bobpie, written by Red Symons, off their first album - never a single - so kudos for choosing it - and I could see the wheels turning with "The one who can fix this prob'ly wears a cape" to achieve the "cape" rhyme - lol - 555

I know a lot of Skyhooks, but even I haven't come across this OS before (Stu is obviously a BIG fan! ;-))...nevertheless, well written, bobpie 555

Well done Conq, I echo Stuart's comments. Kristof ??? Don't know it ? No wonder we exiled your to Britain :) You sure ? Doesn't "Munchy, munchy twisties" ring any bells ?

(Artistry) Good job on a topic we all can relate to, although I've never tried duct tape. :-)

(artistry) Pretty funny, but marred by some lines that just made my face wrinkle and say "Huh?" The duct tape/together bridge could have used some more work. Clever ending.

(Artistry) Hmm . .I think that perhaps the pacing wasn't as tight as you intended it too be. . .although admittedly pacing on Skyhooks isn't easy. . .The lyrics were funny, and the ending stood out, but I think that this one could use a tad bit of fine tuning ;)
