Just let the parody speak to you in whatever way that suits you.
Hello, do you comprehend?
My world of dark, should I explain?
Because I envision softly aching
It leaves it's deeds while I'm weeping
And the villains that were left still cause me pain
Just maintain.
There is a voice of violence.
With silent screams I am alone
Pathetic pleas I have known
And my shackles I do unclamp
And I just holler 'gainst the prison camp
When my eyes were grabbed by a sight that gave me fright
It hit at night.
It touched the voice of violence.
And in a wakened state I saw
Demanding people, at my door
People talking and they're seeking
Others sneering at everything
People righting wrongs when voices try to share.
When no one dared
Perturb the voice of violence.
"Fools", said I, "You didn't know? Silence like a cancer grows."
"Hear my words so your fright subdues.
Break those chains that I might reach you."
Words I hear like violent raindrops dwell
Upon my mind and it's... not silent.
But the people bowed and prayed
To a diff'rent god they made,
And their shrine trashed people knowing
With the worms that it was forming
And the lines said "The mind you should follow is unwritten upon the walls,
No sentiment calls."
It's speaking in the voice of violence.

Bum trip, Dude!
Well-written bum trip, Pat! 5's
Thanks! :D
Adagio - This is a beautifully written piece, top-flight poetry to my mind. It gave me a chill to read it - so sad, yet so well said. We're getting a lot of serious food for thought here lately and I say that's a good thing. Nothing wrong with our "Fun & Games" but a healthy diet includes more than sugar. 5's...
Thank you, Paul. I agree with an occasional serious parody to make you think...then turn around and write one about something like constipation. Makes it all interesting from everyone.
So perfect to the original and one very strong message. This could have been the original and the original a parody of this one. Well done Pat. 5s
Aww...thanks, Guy!
Nice work!
Thanks, Melhi!
Every time you write a parody I get to go for a good long swim in your ideas. 'Cause that's deep, yo. (Replaced the 'funny' category, cause 'funny' isn't what you were going for)
Brilliant, Adagio...seriously. 5s...
Thanks 2nz and Arwen
2nz...hope you know how to swim! Guess I do like some of them deep.

Thanks, martha!
Lord Vader has taught you well, young Sith.
Thanks MP!
Allright, who gave me ones? :(
Adagio, I noticed someone did that to you. I got some today also for no particular reason I can see. The Herman "One-Ster" must be roaming the site today. I "1"-der if it's time to ridicule his(or her) lame butt again with a parody? I'll think about it...
Paul, I loved the Herman "One-Ster" bit...hehehehe!
Adagio - just came up with "Herman" recently. Maybe he's the parody subject I need to break out of my slump.
Paul, I think I thought of one too. :D
This parody is really deep and thought proviking. Pity the world is coming to this... 555.
Lozzie...thanks!
Well done Adagio! My pick for the round!
(ABC) very tight Adagio :-)
Thanks Peregrin and Stuart.
(ABC) Still a poetically brilliant bummer!
(ABC) Just wow, Pat...that was creepy, good luck in the contest. Wow.
Thanks Johnny and Jared!
(ABC) - Adagio, what I said above in my first comments here. Beautiful job about a sorry state of affairs. 5's again in vote recast.
Thanks again, Paul!
Very much what Paul said...
Thanks Phil. :-)
(ABC) Are you sure you aren't really Bob Dylan's daughter? ;-)
LOL, Merry! Thanks!
