"The Candyman"

Original Performer:

Sammy Davis Jr.

Parody Song Title:

"The Handyman"

Parody Written by:

Rick Duncan

The Lyrics

In praise of the do-it-yourselfer.
Who can take a faucet
Sprinkling on you?
Thread it, seal it, caulk it
Make it good as new
The handyman
The handyman can
The handyman can
Cause he fixes it with tape
And makes the tap work good

Who can take a door hinge?
Squeaking up the house
Use some 3 in 1
And make it quiet as a mouse
The handyman
The handyman can
The handyman can
Cause he fixes it with grease
And makes the door sound good

The handyman Can
Cause everything that breaks
Is so costly to maintain now
He's about to ream the drain now
And the furniture he'll stain now

Can't wait until tomorrow?
Floor nails in the mat?
He'll bring in his toolbelt
And he'll hammer till it's flat
The handyman
The handyman can
The handyman can
The handyman can

Cause he fixes it with glue
And makes it work so good
Likes to work on wood
Cause the handyman thinks he's good
Cause the handyman tinks
Cause the handyman thinks he's good
Ow! My thumb!

Johnnie, Mari made the same comment. I was going to try to switch the lyrics to "Hello Dolly" and "Lay Down Sally", but it proved a little tricky. I know if you or I do that Taylor song, it's gonna be "I'm Your Randyman"
