Song Parodies -> "Mr Bean"

Original Song Title:

"Killer Queen"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Queen

Parody Song Title:

"Mr Bean"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

He keeps an eye on the artwork
In a London gallery
They want rid of him
Just to save his salary
A fortunate remedy:
He'll fly into Kennedy
Got an American invitation
He can't decline

Airport security
Caught out by stupidity
Extraordinarily dumb

[CHORUS:]
He is Mr Bean
One-man catastrophe
Chaos it will reign supreme
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime

Recommended by the Brits
Incapable of showing wits
Wanna cry...

He will cause complications
Staying at your home address address
In conversation
He's guaranteed to cause distress
Wreaked havoc... did he, brother!
Damaged Whistler's Mother
Admittedly accidentally
But he's that way inclined

His future naturally looks murky
With head stuck up a turkey
(Ridiculous plot device)

[CHORUS]

More than a prat, he's unwilling to
Do anything you want him to
Permanently out of action
And most audibly passing gas
To absolutely drive you nuts! Nuts!
He's out to get you

[CHORUS]

Recommended by the Brits
Incapable of showing wits
Wanna cry?
You wanna cry

Hehehehehehehe, great one mate! Pissed myself laughing all the way through this parody!

This guy is a real life Mr. Magoo on steroids. This guy makes Gilligan's Island look like something to be taken seriously. Nice job Phil. Well done on ol' Mr. Bean. What a twit he is.

Thanks, Troy and Guy... I didn't actually like the film that much (it got too painful for me), but I must own up to being a lot of a Rowan Atkinson fan, from his "Not the 9 O'Clock News" days onwards: maybe a Blackadder parody is called for (not sure what tune to use, though)
Guy - January 08, 2004 - Report this comment
I was unaware that they made a movie on him. I am remembering TV broadcasts on him about 10 years ago or so.

Yes, Guy - the movie was called "Bean", and the plot is summarized above (though, before anybody points out that JFK airport doesn't serve LA, with just a bit of poetic license)

Hated the movie, loved the series. Hmm... same with Dr. Who, actually. I loved this parody, so please don't send it to Hollywood. They'll ruin it. ;)

*chuckle* 5's

The pacing get's off just a little from the original, but other than that I think it's the best one I've read today!

"maybe a Blackadder parody is called for (not sure what tune to use, though)"...maybe backstabbers, by the o'jays

Don't know that one, sloatead... "Brown Sugar" by the Stones had crossed my mind, though

Phil, that is plain excellent!

I never saw the movie, but we saw some of the Mr. Bean T.V. shows, and they were great.
Melhi - August 08, 2004 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Yep, I still prefer your ode to the actual movie! :)
Johnny D - August 09, 2004 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Rowan Atkinson makes me laugh, especially as Black Adder!

JSOTM-- Good work on a difficultly-paced song! I don't think anyone else has done a song about Mr. Bean. 555

Your wordplay is exceptional, Philbo. I've never seen any Bean stuff, but Rowan Atkinson's bit in Four Weddings and a Funeral is classic. I liked him in Love Actually too. Also (he says, embarrassedly emptying his closet) I own just about everything Queen ever recorded. I've considered parodying this one, but find it a bit daunting. You pulled it off, though. Nicely.

JSOTM: I like this one. You picked just the right OS for your subject. Favorite line: "Recommended by the Brits / Incapable of showing wits." BTW, have you seen Atkinson's "drum solo"?

(SOTM) Don't like Mr. bean, but I love this parody. Hard song to do, and you paced it beautifully.
Peregrin - August 30, 2004 - Report this comment
Merry, you and I have to have a severe talk! Don't like Bean? Oy oy oy, (mutter, mutter...). Phil, this was great!
Phil Alexander - August 30, 2004 - Report this comment
JD- As has been mentioned before, I luuurrve Blackadder (though contrary to what has been suggested, that is not why I named my second son "Edmund")
M&P - strangely enough, I don't really like Mr Bean that much: a lot of the comedy is just too cringeworthy, too painful
Spaff - I'd been wanting to parody this one for a while, but it took watching "Bean" the movie to realize that it all fit in beautifully
Mari - "Drum solo"? Rings a bell, but I can't place it. I've got an awful lot of Rowan Atkinson's stuff on video, from "Not the nine O'Clock news" onwards...

sotm--Not really familiar with MR. Bean, but good job, still enjoyed it

Nice one Phil. Mr. Bean would be proud... if he could ever figure out what was going on. My person favorite was the swimming pool/parking garage episode.
