Another Trick by De Gaulle, Part Dien Bien Phu
He conned us into this nation.
He got us into a hole:
A deep, dark chasm. . .no wiggle room.
He leaves! We're stuck there alone!
Hey! He leaves! We're stuck there alone!
All in all it's just another trick by De Gaulle.
See The Wall! All because of a trick by De Gaulle.
[repeat]

You got the pacing, but I don't get the concept. 534.
Agrimorfee. Yeh, it's a bit obscure. We inherited Vietnam from the French, after they got their derrieres kicked at Dien Bien Phu. " The Wall" (caps) refers to the wall in D.C. of 58,000 names of soldiers killed in the war, which--circling back--we inherited from the French under De Gaulle.
I always remember being taught about Dien Bien Phu, and how it's a homophone for the French "Tiens, bien fou". This is a strong parody, John, that looks like it ought to be part of a bigger whole: you got any more bits to go with it?
After you explained it, it was great....
Not yet, Phil, but your message may prompt me to do more--thanks.
Part Dien Bien Phu? What about Part Khe Sanh?
