The Lyrics

This is sort of dated even though I just wrote it. Supposedly Paul is very anti-drug now, but he used do plenty of marijuana, and got in trouble. Musically as well as legally.
Every day I roll another joint, I take a puff
Then I go and write a song and tell myself this is good stuff
Then smoke another "J"
Buy another baggy
Rollin' up those "doobs"
Playin' my piano, singin "blue notes"
Ah, I smoked another "J"

At my office is the papers where I roll some more
Need to fill my time up
For this rock star life is such a bore
I smoke another "J"
Puff, puff puff, puff puff, puff
I smoke another "J"
Puff, puff puff, puff puff, puff
I smoke another "J"

So stoned so stoned
Sometimes I get so stoned
The life of the party I was
Till I went to Japan and met customs fuzz

Oh, stayed in a small cell
Was no fun, had no weed
Had my habit to feed
So bad
Worst ten days I have had

As I head into the studio to play a track
Thousand bucks an hour and I'm giggling
And flat on my back
I smoked another "J"
Puff, puff puff, puff puff, puff
I smoked another "J"
Puff, puff puff, puff puff, puff
I smoked another "J"

So stoned so stoned
Sometimes I get so stoned
Alone in the bathroom I sit
My career and my lungs need another hit

Wow, brain cells are gone
There they were, yesterday
Now they've all gone away
No fad
No way to be a dad

Every day I roll another joint I take a puff
Then I go and write a song and tell myself this is good stuff
Then smoke another "J"
Eyes are getting' baggy
Where'd I put my keys?
Now I can't remember any lyrics

I smoked another "J"
Puff, puff puff, puff puff, puff
I smoked another "J"
Puff, puff puff, puff puff, puff
I smoked another "Jaaaaaayyyyyyyy"

New recordings coming...

This is my pick for today's best, and there were a lot of good ones today! Thanks for providing new lyrics for one of the corniest songs ever written.

So THAT's why Paul's lyrics were always so incredibly silly....

Rick - 5's from another Paul (albeit a much less wealthy one) who has forsaken the killer weed - just kidding about the "killer" connotation, but, yes, I stopped several years ago...found I didn't enjoy disorientation and incoherence as much as I used to. It really zombies me out.
