Song Parodies -> "Room Full Of Noses"

Original Song Title:

"Room Full Of Roses"

Original Performer:

Mickey Gilley

Parody Song Title:

"Room Full Of Noses"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

It is said of noses, true
Creator’s work: he overdo...
Viewed as this room full of noses
And if I met a nose that’s slight
It wouldn’t be that Streisand sight
Don’t need a ‘zoom’ for those noses

And if that Jim Durante
Married Sarah Jess’ca Park’
You'd have Henry Winkler chosen
As ‘Best Schnoz’, he’d fit the part

And it obscures the field of view
Of Pete Townsend, and Maniloo
Imagine the rheum of those noses
I’d express alarm when they blew

An overcooked proboscis
Aniston: stands her apart
Some be wearing up-sized noses
Like the beak of Jamie Farr

Pinocchio had snout that grew
And don’t forget Miss Piggy, too
Cyrano had gloom ‘cus his nose was
Out-thrust and a harm to his woos

Try as we might, we could find no room for these worthy contenders who must settle for a 'highly commended':

Bette Midler
Paris Hilton
Karl Malden
Owen Wilson
Art Garfunkel
Bob Hope
Walter Matthau
James Cromwell

Had to hunt this song down since I thought I'd never heard it before, but then realized I knew from way back. Fun to read, as always. Both of you have the cool wordplay going on like 'out thrust and a harm to his woos' and 'I'd express alarm if they blew.'

Dear Cyrano had a proboscis
That many would say was colossus
In kitchen they found
The poor man had drown
While sniffing too hard ‘round some sauces.
