| Parody Song Title: | "Pair Of Tix" |
| Parody Written by: | sloatead |
Was on the radio, won a contest last night
Two tickets for a play on opening night
I got a new dress, I got everything I need
Except for someone who'd like to see it with me
Well, I got a pair of tix for "Kiss Me Kate" up in the balcony
I know that you're not homosexual, but still you could see
Nothing wrong with a musical, doesn't mean that you're gay
Well, I got a pair of tix for "Kiss Me Kate" seven o'clock today
I've seen "Evita" and "Jesus Christ Superstar"
I've seen "Hair" and "Cats" a dozen times each so far
To see "A Chorus Line" I'd travel all around the world
And you say that musicals are fine for a girl
Oh yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah
Oh yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah
I asked your mother to tell you I phoned
But it looks like I'll be seeing this play alone
It almost seems like you have some twisted need
To assert your manliness, to prove you're a steed
Well, I got a pair of tix for "Kiss Me Kate" up in the balcony
I know that you're not homosexual, but still you could see
Nothing wrong with a musical, doesn't mean that you're gay
Well, I got a pair of tix for "Kiss Me Kate" seven o'clock today

Wow! Someone else who remembers this song! And I like it! If this actually happened, bummer!
no, it didn't actually happen. part of the art of writing, anything, is getting inside the mind of the characters you're writing about, and since i've got 5's, (so far) it looks like i got into the mind of this character pretty well. and thanks for the 5's and the comments
