The Lyrics

(short intro)

Ah-ahhhhh-ah, ah-ahhhhh-ah
Welcome to the land of the ice cream cones
From the midnight sun of the Cosby Show
Member of the cause, will drown hardships to nude land
To fight the whore, singing and crying,
Van Halen, I am coming.....

Always sleep with, nothing on
I wanna go where people twist and shout

Ah-ahhhhh-ah, ah-ahhhhh-ah
Who needs coffee when the ice cream's cold
From the midnight sun where the harsh winds blow
So talk to me supreme, enlisted tails of lore
Of howling Kong in times of war;
We are yet overblown......

Always sweet, refreshing, ahh!
I wanna go and taste the west end shore

Tonight you'd better stop, reaping over your ruin
For decent rust can't win a date despite of all your loosened

ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh

ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh

ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh

Allow me to explain my 554. It paced like a dream, no complaints there. It really cracked me up. But the overall score I've made a 4 (I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to do this) because for a PARODY, its content was inconsistent. Even though I'm familiar with your misheard lyrics parodies and also liked "In Farmer" by someone else. I DID like it. And I don't want to be a whiner.

Thanks YAD, and of course you can vote that way. If by inconsistent you mean non-sensical, I agree 100%-taking what 10 or so people misheard and putting it all together in one parody is not going to result in a coherent parody.

i appreciated this for what it was....sounding very much like the original lyrics at the risk at making no sense...hell, zeppelin didn't make make much sense with their lyrics anyway...5s

I thought it was good, when you said you were going to do another misheard lyrics parody, I didn't think it would be to Led Zeppelin... Coincidentally, I was just listening to this album (along with some others) last night.

Ah, did I use the word 'inconsitent' incorrectly? My bad English will be my downfall one day! My comments and other submissions to this site must be full of errors... (sniff) "Immigrant Song" didn't make much sense, Alvin? Then I guess it's not only a misheard song, but also one with a misinterpretated meaning. I thought "Immigrant Song" was about the Norsemen invading. (Because of the lines "land of the ice and snow, hot springs blow, Valhalla I'm coming, we are your overlords") I'm probably wrong. What say you, Red Ant?
Red Ant - September 28, 2005 - Report this comment
YAD, as far as the meaning of the song, you are probably right. As far as the correct useage of "inconsistent", you used it correctly, I think.

(ABC) Misheard lyrics parodies are still a brilliant idea, not knowing the original song makes them much harder to appreciate.
Agrimorfee - September 30, 2005 - Report this comment
(ABC05) I think the "From the midnight sun.." line is correct verbatim.

I know you were going for word match here, but you are right. It doesn't make much sense
