| Parody Written by: | Alvin Rhodes |
down in cuba, was born...with hispanic drawl
his red headed woman is really a ball
and there's junior, their kid, who's a version that's small
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
he left his dear home where on drums, he was schooled
he played them oh so clever...yes he played them so cool
people found his thumpin' crazy...and his legend was fueled
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
well, he wowed them in cuba for twenty odd years
and now in a new land, he's found a career
a jaunty straw hat and a conga, his gear
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
"babalu" was the theme song he sang on TV
and he played it with fervor....so dashing was he
if you find thumpin' pleasant, i'm sure you will agree
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
he boomed and he bopped as the songs he would trill
his rhythms would burn and his fans were fulfilled
it sure seems to me that he gave them a thrill
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
he's ricky ricardo...on congas, he beats
if you go and see ricardo, request "cuban pete"

Can't be beat! Five 'membranophones'!
thanks tully and TJC
Is this the same "WCH" that Green Day did? It fits the pacing.
Well, actually, Green Day did a cover of this song. . .so yes and no. . .technically it's the other way around. . .Green Day did the same song that John Lennon did--but pacing is identical, so it could be considered a parody of either song.
Drumming up some fives
I figured that IF it was the same one, that, yeah, the Green Day version would've been a cover; I just wasn't sure if it WAS the exact same one or not. But thanks for clearing that up.
