The Lyrics

I've moderated several forums online. It's not an enviable task. I've
been called a "Net Nazi" for banning participants who constantly
flame fellow posters (despite rules forbidding those kinds
of posts) and have almost been sued for letting abusive
threads go on too long (only because I was out of town while
they festered). So this is dedicated to all the unappreciated
moderators out there!
Moderator, your forum's filled with angry posts
Can't log on and ask any simple questions
I get on every day, and I have something to say
When I try the response is often X-rated

Isn't that so sad, I am engrossed
By those daily flames
When you see folks abusing the rules please ban them
So I can post and get answers so fine and know
I won't be told to blow, or told to go to hell
Or that I am dumb ,or that my mother smells
Now that's not a good deal
I don't like the way it feels

Moderator, could you kick off the bad guys?
Can't show their responses to my young children
You know I've really tried, but it happens every time
I think a bit of love could go a long way here

Isn't that so sad, I am engrossed
By those daily flamers
When you see folks abusing the rules please ban them
So I can post and get answers so fine and know
I won't be told to blow or told to go to hell
Or that I am dumb or that my mother smells
Now that's not a good deal
I don't like the way it feels

Moderator, let's forget about this post
That bastard's post called me a f**ing liar
I'm jumping in the fray, I'll flame and get revenge my way
--Whatcha mean, I'm banned?!?

Isn't that so sad, I am engrossed
By those daily flamers
When you see folks abusing the rules please ban them
So I can post and get answers so fine and know
I won't be told to blow or told to go to hell
Or that I am dumb or that my mother smells
Now that's not a good deal
I don't like the way it feels

Well done, Mason, I liked this one. I hope my comment and your 5 vote doesn't get deleted.

Sounds like a thankless job. Good job on this parody. You had me thinking it was going to be about Jim Lehrer.

Mason, having the same role (under a different name) elsewhere - I can relate to what you are saying! Good job!
