The Lyrics

In an effort to write a parody that will go over the majority of everyone's heads, I present to you a recap of one of the biggest wrestling matches, the Royal Rumble. And while fans look forward to this match every year...this years event was a major disappointment. The guy that the WWE (specifically owner Vince McMahon) says will be the next big star of the company, Roman Reigns ended up winning the 30-man match. The problem is that the majority of fans are sick and tired of have certain superstars shoved in their faces. So what did the Philly crowd do? They boo'd the crap out of him! This was especially noticeable when real fan favorites Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, and Dolph Ziggler were eliminated. Now, Roman gets a title shot against former UFC star Brock Lesnar, at what is called the "Superbowl of Wrestling"...Wrestlemania! WHAT THE!? Wrestling fans are not happy about it, and I thought it'd be interesting to see how this would look in parody form. Original Song
A big show in January
There are thirty men fighting in the ring
Those wrestlers get tossed, oh man they go flyin’
Winner gets a date, a date with destiny!

First one, won by Duggan
Three were won by Steve Austin
(It’s the) Royal (Royal), Royal (Royal), Royal Rumble winner (Royal Rumble winner)

Nearly thirty years, they’ve had this
Wrestleman’a date for their title dream
But I never seen this rough crowd get so angry
Then I saw the match in two-thousand fifteen!

Crowd didn’t get what’s wanted
Crowd damn near starts a riot
(At the) Royal (Royal), Royal (Royal), Royal Rumble Winner (Royal Rumble winner)
(Yes the) Royal (Royal), Royal (Royal), Royal Rumble Winner (Royal Rumble winner)

This years event was in Philly
Freakin’ Vince McMahon always gets his way
Daniel Bryan tossed shortly after startin’
Crowd knew right away this would not end great!

The crowd now is turnin'
Surprised the ring isn’t burning
Booin’, booin’, booin’ that Shield member
(‘Cause that) Roman, Roman, Roman is the winner

Hear them boo, boo, boo, boo,
Boo, boo, boo, boo
Boo, boo, boo, boo

Crowd’s even cheering for Rusev
They don’t give a damn about The New Day
But I never saw the point of even ent’rin’
Why try Fandango? We all know he won’t win!

The crowd now is livid
The bird, they now are flippin’
Roman, Roman, Roman is the winner
Roman, Roman, Roman is the winner

Hear them boo, boo, boo, boo,
Boo, boo, boo, boo
Boo, boo, boo, boo

Number 30 was Dolph Ziggler...
Like a bag of trash, he’s thrown out the ring
Bell rings, and it’s Roman...at the sign he’s pointin’
People now on Twitter are about to flip

This thing is just a mess, ugh!
Looks like I’ll root for Lesnar!
(Why not) Ambrose, Wyatt, Bryan or Dolph Ziggler?
(Instead) Roman, Roman, Roman is the winner

Hear them boo, boo, boo, boo,
Boo, boo, boo, boo
Boo, boo, boo, boo

(repeat last chorus to end)

Risky move putting out a parody about something only a small handful of people would know about. I never got into WWE style wrestling but a few of my friends are as is my sister so they would probably appreciate this parody a lot more than I could.

^ same as Matthias here I'm not really into WWE myself and I prefer the CCR version of the original song personally but this was very well-written! 5's

Some of the rhymes are interesting in a good way. The topic is a good choice, and you kept it light despite the 'anger of the crowd'. Had you focused on the anger, it could have killed the mood, but you focused on the 'this whole thing is a bit of a mess', which kept it fun. Good job. 4-4-4

Obscure topic, but you painted a good picture of it overall. Not a lotta laughs but yet it would be awesome to see Tina do this starting out "nice and slow..." with the trio of girls behind her.

I wonder if the parody is scripted like WWE.

(Artistry) Thank goodness I watched Little Kuriboh's Mark Remark on this farce of a match otherwise I only would've kinda understood this. Maybe not the best of topics to pick, but hot damn if you didn't pull it off pretty well considering. 555!

(Artistry) Never really got into wrestling at all. I get the gist of the culture, but not enough to really dig into this one. I researched the match in question to give myself some context, so now I am familiar, but it holds no special significance to me. Sorry, I'm one of those idiots who had this one go over my head. Way over.
