The Lyrics

Well, he did it. We all knew he would. If I'd known about this site in 2000, I would've taken this song, written by Larry Weiss, and turned it into "Drugstore Cowboy." Times change. Do they ever. "A long, long time ago, I can still remember when Bill Clinton's peace and prosperity used to make me smile..."
I've been marching these streets so long
singing the same old song
I know every lie in those dirty speeches of Georgie
where greed is the name of the game
and poor folks get washed away like the snow and the rain
there's been a load of B.S. risin'
we've gone past the war horizon
and he's gonna be on the Fox News travesty

Like a tombstone cowboy
as the ass of a horse in his star-spangled video
like a tombstone cowboy
seeing signs so angry from people he just don't want to know
but he's still in the twilight zone

Well, I really do mind his reign
and his smile can't hide all our pain
but you're down when you're ridin' the train
that's takin' the wrong way
and I dream of the things I'll do
when the dummy beaten and his butt-prints all over my shoe
there'll be no chance of compromisin'
on the 2004 horizon
'cause we're gonna put an end to his Presidency

He's a tombstone cowboy
he's the ass of a horse in his star-spangled video
like a tombstone cowboy
seeing signs so angry from people he just don't want to know
but he's still in the twilight zone

He's a tombstone cowboy
he's the ass of a horse in his star-spangled video
like a tombstone cowboy
seeing signs so angry from people he just don't want to know.

I don't agree with your "peace and prosperity" comment when describing Clinton, but I didn't give all 1's because of it.

BTW, I wrote a parody of this song titled New Car Salesmen. Good job.

William Tong wrote "Doomsday Cowboy" to this song. I hate to criticize Bill, but I think mine's a whole lot better.

Austin C. Tilimitz didn't allow comments for his "White House Cowboy," but, despite it being on the same subject as this and William Tong's song, I thought it was pretty good.
