Parody Song Title:

"I've Been Bored"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

i've been bored
yeah, i'm bored
yeah, i'm bored

i really hate to be blue
really want to scream, its true
really want to be unbored
but the whole day long, i'm bored (hellish ennui)
i've been bored (hellish ennui)
yeah, i'm bored (hellish ennui)
oh, so bored (hellish ennui)

i really wish it'd go, too
really wish it'd blow, its true
really want to be unbored
makes the day so long...i'm bored (hardly conscious)
i've been bored (hardly conscious)
yeah, i'm bored (hardly conscious)
oh, im so bored (conscious conscious)
i'm real bored (hardly hardly)

its gettin' hard to see through
really up a tree, its true
really want to be unbored
but its grip is strong...i'm bored (what a trauma)
i'm so bored (what a trauma)
oh, i'm bored (what a drama)
yeah, i'm bored (but that's not new)
i'm real bored (where'd my glee go ?)
i'm so bored (hardly conscious)
oh so bored (hellish ennui)

(fades as he falls asleep)

You may be bored, but it's hard for parodies this good to bore me: spot-on pacing, great wordplay, good contrast between the original theme and the new one. 5-5-5.

I've thought of turning "Born In the U.S.A." into "Bored with the Games at Shea," but it probably won't be this good. By the way, Stuart, I know you Brit-themed countries spell "-or" words as "-our," but the group's name is the Shirelles, because their lead singer was named Shirley (Owens, now Shirley Alston-Reeves).

yeah, I was gonna google it to check , Michael (wasn't even sure if I was close even, so I'm quite chuffed that I was only a letter off) but I was in a hurry and the lame gag wasn't worth it :-)

Clever, clever Mr Rhodes...1) The fact that the OS is SO repetitive heightens the effect of your parody, and 2) The switch of the Mantras to english was superb. 555's all round
