Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Methane"

Parody Written by:

Jan Unwin

The Lyrics

When the cows digest grass - what comes out as a gas?
Methane
As they belch in the field - what do they yield?
Methane
Gasify, gasify, gasify
Methane

Cow belches collect - cause a greenhouse effect
Methane
The farts from a steer - foul the atmosphere
Methane
In the sky, in the sky, in the sky
Methane

A large herd of beef's - gonna need some relief
Methane
When results are felt, and the ice caps melt
Methane
We'll know why, we'll know why, we'll know why
Methane

We'll know why, we'll know why, we'll know why
Methane

Jan - Looks like you stocked up on "livestock" parodies today. There's an area only a couple miles from where I live that has oil wells on it and whenever there is fairly substantial rainfalls you can smell the methane when you pass by them. Incredible nasty smelling stuff. sweet parody, though. 5's

Actually that didn't occur to me, that they were both livestock parodies. I'm feeling sheepish.

Loved it, although I expected a different ending to the first line than "out as gas" :-)
Jan Unwin - March 18, 2004 - Report this comment
Steven, have to admit I went with my second choice.

This parody stunk, I gave it 5's! I would have given you 6's had you said JJ Cale instead or Eric, promise!
