And not once do I mention Jack Haley, Jr.
Hey there, children watch a movie that was acted long ago
Bout a city in that Oz-land and the Munchkins there "below"
In some make-up was a dancer who wore ratty clothes all day
And the dude who had to wear it was a thespian named Ray
Most of us just love that Scarecrow
On the road he's Dorothy's friend
Singin' it or doin' dance steps
It's hilarious to watch him bend
When that hurricane came a blowin'
She got in the way
And the bad witch came right after
One thin Bolger stuffed with hay
So the wizard (that big phony) gave a mission to them all
Asking for the evil broomstick and a chase upon a wall
Then came danger from the monkeys, made our hero's guts spread
It's a good thing that our actor really had a brain in his head
You just gotta love that Scarecrow
On the road he's Dorothy's friend
Singin' it or doin' dance steps
It's hilarious to watch his end
When that hurricane came a blowin'
She got in the way
And the bad witch came right after
One thin Bolger stuffed with hay
Now the soldiers looked so happy when they watched old witchy melt
She had tried to burn our hayloft, quite a hit below the belt
Helped out gal get back to Auntie, where the color seemed to fade
And our hero ran the city, but of fire, still afraid
It's the story of that scrawny Scarecrow
On the road he's Dorothy's friend
Singin' it or doin' dance steps
It's hilarious to watch him bend
When that hurricane came a-blowin'
She got in the way
And the bad witch came right after
One thin Bolger stuffed with hay

Go ahead and post it, Phil.

HAHAHA...good one...i love the "one thin bolger...stuffed with hay" line....5s
Good work! Although it was a tornado, not a hurricane.
Nice one Rick. :-)
HEY! I was gonna do "One Thin Bolger"!
Or not. But I've oft considered parodying "One Tin Soldier," a song that inexplicably gives me the creeps. Anyhoo, great job - I would suggest recording this, but I don't know where you'd find a flute player.

I too always thought this song ripe for parody, but the only line I had was "and the Village People swore they'd go to the YMCA". Anyway, great stuff as usual.
Excellent, Highlander...now you've got me thinking about a parody of "One Tin Soldier" .... hmm ....
I guess now I have to take up the challenge. Another one I had high hopes for, but this one didn't make me dance and be merry. And certainly didn't make me be Merry.
