Yikes, I actually remember most of the original song's melody!! 5's, good job, Royce, but no alternate meaning is coming to mind.....
Faith and begorrah (and all those other Irish lasses!) Royce, ye be showin' yer age!!! I didn't think there were many out there who could recall the Bobby Sherman craze! LOL. You nailed the pacing on this (not to mention some pretty sharp rhymes with the original "He likes to whine. He likes to fart." AWFUL lyrics but perfect matches - lol!! 555 of course. I think I understand your hidden meaning. Leprechauns are "green" and those who are truly concerned about our environment understand that the continued escalation of violence in the world could lead to a nuclear winter. "Watching the ocean rise and fall" due to the astronomical forces that come into play as the result of our tampering with nuclear hell! "Digging for clams" in the beach as a matter of survival when all of the food is gone. Good grief, Royce, this is SOOO depressing!!!!!! :D
Deosn't it snow in Ireland? This is one of the first records I ever bought. Still love Bobby Sherman tunes! :-)
