The Lyrics

The first rock concert at Shea Stadium in New York was by the Beatles in 1965. At the time, 19-year-old George W. Bush probably thought they were Communists. This week, the last concert at Shea will be played by Billy Joel. After eight years of Bush, this country's in about the same condition as Shea.
(instrumental opening)

Get out, George Dubya, no more do we wait.
We get rid of you in 2008.
Aw, and sooner or later it came down to fate.
You'll no longer be the one.

Well, you gave us bad statutes, told us to pray.
We should've worked sooner to put you away.
Aw, it looks McCain pays the price you should pay
for things that you know you've done.

You know you're phony, no good and dumb!
That's what I said!
Phony, no good and dumb!
Phony, no good and dumb!

You might've heard I run with a liberal crowd.
We never supported you, that makes us proud.
And you now see us laughing a bit too loud.
Aw, but that never hurt no one.

So you'll now see Virginia show you a sign.
Ohio, this year, won't buy your old line.
In Colorado, McCain is behind.
We end "Third Reich From the Son."

You know you're phony, no good and dumb!
That's what I said!
Phony, no good and dumb!
Phony, no good and dumb!

You got a nice White House you into with stolen election!
You got a brand-new role
hung us on cross of gold.
Aw, but George Dubya, you didn't read Condi Rice's information.
You didn't get Osama back.
Ignored him, went into Iraq.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

They say there's a heaven, and for you it waits.
Some say you're goin' there, I say you ain't.
Your eight-year Adminstration is covered with taint.
You sinners had too much fun.

You know you're phony, no good and dumb!
Whoa-whoa, whoa-whoa-whoa!
Phony, no good and dumb!
Phony, no good and dumb!

(instrumental break)

You know you're never gonna save your historical reputation!
Aw, you never cared for me.
Barack says, "George, you scared of me?"
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!

Get out! Get out! Get out!
George Dubya, no more do we wait!
We get rid of you in 2008!
And sooner or later it came down to fate!
You'll no longer be the one!

You know, you're phony, no good and dumb!
Tell ya, Georgie!
Phony, no good and dumb!
Phony, no good and dumb!
Phony, no goooo-ood!
Phony, no good and dumb!
(fade out)

Wow! It's not even 10AM EST and already three 1-bombs. I didn't think trolls got up this early.

nice bit o' bashing...at least the mets get a new stadium soon....looks like we get 4 more years of republicans,,,ugghhh
Michael Pacholek - July 16, 2008 - Report this comment
Relax, Alvin, this country's not going to make the same mistake a third time. Which is good for me, because the Yankees haven't won a World Series with a Republican as President since 1958! They're 0-5 in World Series with Republican Presidents the last 50 years, but 8-2 with Democratic Presidents.

I dunno, Michael. There are two things to be worried about:

1. Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

2. Never underestimate the subtle and barely repressed racism of white Americans.

Great job Mike... I enjoyed it! Hopefully my 5-5-5 vote will help to counterbalance the undeserved low votes (which were probably brought on by trolls, as McKludge said).

The Mets' new stadium have a terrible name. Why do they have to sell out? WHY?
Michael Pacholek - July 16, 2008 - Report this comment
McKludge: 1. "Stupid people in large groups" brings Met fans, much more so than Republicans, to my mind. 2. Those racists are about to find out just how little power they really have. Max: It's worse: Yankee Fans have already decided that "Citi" rhymes with... a synonym for "crappy."

Just want to know, how much would you bet that even if A-Rod did win the WS with the Yankees, he'll still get ripped by Lupica? I'd bet at least 20% of his salary
Michael Pacholek - July 16, 2008 - Report this comment
I'd bet 100 percent of A-Rod's salary that, if the Yankees won the Series, Lupica would still not admit that they're better than the Mets. The 2000 World Series didn't teach any other Met fan anything, why should a 27th Yankee Title teach Lupica anything?

Sir Michael, my favorite line: " 3rd Reich from the Son. " But sir, who is Lupica ? Could it be a code name for Madonna ??
Michael Pacholek - July 17, 2008 - Report this comment
Cake Lady, believe me, you're better off not knowing this, but Mike Lupica is a columnist for the Daily News. He's a huge Met fan, has always hated the Yankees -- yet ghost-wrote Reggie Jackson's "as told to" autobiography in 1983. He's also a major apologist for Don Imus, yet he wrote great columns about the Knicks' Isiah Thomas mess. Yet the biggest objections to his writing come not from angry Yankee Fans, but angry Republicans, because he dares to say that George Bush is a liar and John McCain is unfit for the Presidency. How can he be so right (or left) about politics, and so wrong about baseball? He even got mentioned on a "Seinfeld" episode: Elaine got George a job at the publishing house she works at, and her boss asked George what writers he reads. George doesn't read anything except the Daily News, so he says, "I like Mike Lupica." When he's asked what novelists, he uses his standard made-up name, Art Vandelay, calling him a beatnik writer who wrote something called "Venetian Blinds." I guess George forgot that Lupica has written novels, all with sports themes. They're not very good. He drives me crazy: Just when I think he's convinced me he can write like nobody's business, he goes off on one of his pro-Met, anti-Yankee, or pro-Imus tangents, and makes me sick again.

Readong Lupica's columns made my eyes melt in a painful manner.
