The Lyrics

Fred Flintstone waxes rhapsodic about life on 'Toon TV...

Well I find myself at times with Rubble
During breaks at Slate’s quarry
Ponderin’ our good luck on
'Toon TV

And how our Stone Age allegory
—Seven seasons, ten movies—
Wrote that page right out of
history

Bourgeoisie cartoon-ese?
ABC’s PhD
Barbera had the answer:
Yabba D’s!

And when we're driving round in Bedrock
Courtesy of my two feet
Gotta let loose with those
Yabba D’s!

And though you may hear BamBam’s slammins’
Sound byte’s tend to fa-vor me
Folks can’t get enough of
Yabba D’s

Toon TV’s Yabba D’s
Catchy, kitschy aural-tease
Jetsons had no hook like
Yabba D’s

'Toon TV’s Yabba D’s
Kept my name on those marquees
Barbera had the answer:
Yabba D’s

~ Musical Interlude ~

'Toon TV’s 'Stone-style cheese
Rockin' togas by Guccis’
Dino really loved my
Yabba D’s

And though I’m now an old and fading
Dinosaur from the six-ties—
Thank Gazoo, in re-runs
Youth’s repreesed

A hundred sixty episodes long
—Only Simpsons surpass these—
Back-lot, though, it ‘twern’t all
Yabba D’s:

'Toon TV’s pregnancies?
Shown as IM-mac-u-la-cies!
Truth?—BamBam was mine—'cause
Bet said "Please!"

'Toon TV, we’re 2-D
NOT im-mune to STD’s!
—Barn and I have geni-
toon Herpes

'Toon TV’s rife with sleaze
Parenting sure ain’t no breeze
Pebbles hangs with Lohan
Yabba Jeez!

Above and beyond the call of duty varying the choruses like you did, with the hilarious lines of "Truth?—BamBam was mine..." and "Barn and I have geni-toon Herpes". Here's some Valtrocks and 5s for ya. PS: You ought to consider entering this in the upcoming ABC-Y round (thread will be up in a month or so).

Marvellous - a truly excellent sub for the first line, and "geni-toon herpes" is genius :-D

Absolutely adored this, TJC. The first line had me hooked, and it only got better. 555

Yabba Thanka Yooooo, all... appreciate the comments and votes--I was inspired by Phil's landmark '100th' version parody (just this past Saturday.).. and by one he referenced in his song: "Let Aunt Bea" (which to my way of thinking is on a par with Rick C's masterwork, "Bum Bare Under a Raincoat"). Thanks again!

Kristof stole my comment (er, or I'm stealing his) ie. the first line was a classic and it maintained that standard all the way through - you're a clever bloke TJC - 555
