Memorize lore
Yeah, you've got to seem eager
Want to study the books
You'll walk uphill to school sixteen miles

Proper etiquette's your duty
You should always wear a smile
Don't enjoy slumber, help out on the farm
If you work all day, there's muscles on your arm

They say old school took a holiday
They say it treated others cruelly, filled all the kids with hate
Sit in the stockade...for an hour or two
You may see things a bit clearer
Ponder till you have a clue

The headmaster...makin' all the rules
If you mess up, sit on the dunce stool
If you're obstinate...then they may flog you sore
And if flogging fails them
Then they'll have to hurt you more

But they had ways to ensure you'd
