"Western Star ( The Old Truck Song)"

Parody Written by:

Malcolm Higgins

The Lyrics

baby was a shiner,
when it pulled it's first load along..
scoobydoo, I named the truck,
and I drove it so far and so long

got myself a tune up,
and went driving every night
then I bought a peterbilt
said to western star..."goodnight"
don't ya know

fixed it with a hammer,
just banged and banged away
it always made the deadlines
yeah, that western star had days...

fixer looked at the door
with a Deere look in his eye..
and he said.. look here, Malky
it's time you said goodbye

Don't you know

Don't you know
That I drove a western star,..(don't you know, don't you know)
Don't you know that I drove a western star
and all along the highway
it went long, and rode like a car....

submitted all the records,
and a million miles away
I remembered all the driving from that very first loaded day
watching the road go by
I never drove too fast
'cause you won't make no money
if you spend it all on gas..

Don't you know
That I drove a western star,..(don't you know, don't you know)
Don't you know that I drove a western star
and all along the highway
it went long, and rode like a car....

then the western died one night,
pulling up a hill
tranny parts, oil on road,
and the motor sitting still..
driving days passed it by,
but I remember every day..
as I drive new rigs,
I still regret the last day...
don't ya know..

Don't you know
That I drove a western star,..(don't you know, don't you know)
Don't you know that I drove a western star
and all along the highway
it went long, and rode like a car....

DKTOS, but big rigs are cool. I'm especially fond of 1970's rigs such as the GMC Astro/Chevy Titan, Peterbilt 359, Diamond REO Raider

OK, I will NOT enter the "and" sign again because it's apparently what's been cutting off my comments. Anyways, what I was trying to say was that I'm especially fond of 1970's rigs such as the GMC Astro/Chevy Titan, Peterbilt 359, Diamond REO Raider, and such mainly because they remind me of Smokey and the Bandit. There, I said it.

Malcolm, if you like old cabover trucks, then you'll love the GMC Astro/Chevy Titan or the Peterbilt 352 "Pacemaker".

Thats A big 10-4 on that. Well i currently own a 1978 GMC Astro with a 300 cummins it gets the job done. The cabover was the best semi ever. Though it may not ride like a volvo i would choose it over any convintenal any day.
