| Original Song Title: | "School's Out" |
| Original Performer: | Alice Cooper |
| Parody Song Title: | "The Rockford Files (His Name Is Rockford)" |
| Parody Written by: | Dylan Baranski |
What, no one's done a parody about The Rockford Files yet? I'm surprised, given the show's popularity, at least one parody about it should've been written about it by now. Oh well, given the number of people that are regular parody writers here, I'm not surprised. For those not in the know, The Rockford Files was a show about a private investigator named Jim Rockford who lived in Malibu, California & specialized in closed criminal cases. Enjoy the parody. Down in Malibu
Lives a P.I. dude,
And he’ll see it through
That a case concludes.
If there’s been a murder
Or corporate scam,
If he don’t solve it,
I’ll be damned!
His name is Rockford,
He drives a cool car,*
His job is dangerous.
Leave your name and
Leave your message,**
He’ll get back when
He’s unhitched.
He won’t take a case
Unless it’s criminal,
And it must be wrapped up, too.
His rate is 200 bucks a day!***
His name is Rockford,
He drives a cool car,
His job is so dangerous.
Leave your name and
Leave your message,
He’ll get back when
He’s unhitched.
He’s been shot at,
He’s been beat up,
But he’ll never
Ever give up!
His name is Rockford,
He drives a cool car,
He don’t need a gun,
Rockford is awesome!
[phone ringing, ringer dies out]

Awesome show and excellent parody. One of my fav episodes featured Isaac Hayes as an ex-con who kept calling Rockford, "Rockfish".
That was a favorite show of mine, back in the day, and this is a wonderful tribute to it..
never watched the show but i dug the parody
Great tribute - I used to like the show as a young lad. So did my mum but for a different reason - she used to fancy him
Loved James Garner, loved the Rockford Files..right up there with Magnum PI
