The Lyrics

As suggested by alvin rhodes and McKludge here, although to a different OS. Nice plain-text OS lyrics (but missing the echo lines) here. Very nice MIDI here (first bar is intro, no lyrics).

No more cops hereafter
Snags some sheep to shaft her
Walks into the airport john, wool in his eyes
Quietly his quarry bends; supply, he plies [1]

Larry Craig groping ewe (baa-baa)
There is no one else to do
Shags his lamb in the loo (baa-baa)
He just cannot face it; he's gay, it's true
(He's gay straight through; should get a clue)
'Fessing up is never easy, I know, but he ought to go
(He shoulda' blown long time ago)
Seeing Craig knowing ewe
It's the best he can do

(instrumental bridge)

Mam'ries (Ma'am, please!), wool, raise (wool craze), baa days (baa daze)
They'll be (Jail? Plea!) Larry's (hairy) new phase (new ways)
In these public airport stalls, others will play
Now there's just ovine caress; no fine to pay

Knowing Craig knowing ewe (baa-baa)
No one else for him to scr'ewe
Craig and ewe in the loo (baa-baa)
He just has to face it; his crime is true
(From tapping shoe, he took his cue)
Stepping down is never easy, I know, but it's apropos
(Should end this show; Good-bye! -- Hello?!)
Larry Craig and his ewe
Proudly make their debut

(instrumental -- cross that bridge as he comes to it again)

Knowing Craig knowing ewe (baa-baa)
Craig's adieu is overdue
Craig and ewe in the loo (baa-baa)
We should just replace him; this slime is through
(His homophobic act is through)
Resignation's never easy, I know; Why did they bestow...
(The Hall of Fame in Idaho?)
Larry Craig and his ewe:
Lovely couple, these two...

[song and career fade]

[1] "supply" as in "in a supple manner", not as in "large supply of oil".

If ewe knew Larry... I've heard he's in some serious sheep-dip, but this is ridiculous!

Not sure if I should be pround or frightened to have helped inspire such demented fare. But I like it. 555

Michael Pacholek (lol), thanks.

McKludge and alvin: You mean you guys weren't serious? I *liked* the idea! :) ... seriously, the concept was so over-the-top that the parody was very easy to write, and a lot of fun to write as well..... Uh, any more ideas, guys? .... thanks :)

MrMacphisto, just checked; didn't find any... what's wrong with those guys? Craig can't do anything right! (lol thanks MM).
AFW, the blame -- I mean, credit -- goes to alvin and McKludge, as per intro comment... thanks AFW.

Excewellence not only a`bounds... it capers, gambols and frisks with verve and abandon accross the Am I Right meadows, and, in this case, frolics right up to the the very edge of the What Freaks foothills! Three rollicking fives!

PMS, thank you for your Cra(i)ggy peaks at my songs!
TJC, you are the Mike Hammer/Sam Spade of comedy commentary, with more imaginative figures of speech than anyone I've ever met 'afore!

I don't know what Larry did, but Hats Off To (him) :) I searched for Larry Craig sheep and this came up: "Larry Craig Knowing Ewe - Am I Right" LOL! I bet he's feeling sheepish now.

Short version: He was a US Senator who had sponsored and supported various anti-gay measures. His arrest in an airport men's room for allegedly soliciting sex from an undercover (male) officer led many to decry the hypocrisy of not only remaining "closeted", but of overcompensating via public homophobia.

He pled guilty to a lesser charge, then tried to revoke his plea (denied). He announced his intention to resign from the Senate, but then decided to finish his term. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in his home state of Idaho -- the state that has been "lamb-ass-ted" in so many sheepodies as being the US equivalent of Wales or New Zealand regarding the popularity of sheep-shagging -- as mentioned in intros to one or two others on the baahbliography.

Loved the Del Shannon ref! Don't think I've parodied that one.
