| Original Song Title: | "Danke Schoen" |
| Original Performer: | Wayne Newton |
| Parody Song Title: | "Donny Shame" |
| Parody Written by: | John A. Barry |
Donny shame, I harbor Donny shame
'Cause now I realize he's lame.
TV show, viewed religiously.
While I watched I'd eat, many treats,
Scratch my feet and my seat.
Donny shame, marred by Donny shame.
I took him over football games,
In the fall, with Neanderthals.
He had boring guests, badly dressed,
Genderless, like Rupaul.
Donny shame, goldarn my Donny shame!
Chronic smile must have caused him pain.
Now I see, he was so hokey,
Way behind the times, so he tried
To refine his clothes line.
Donny shame, I'm scarred by Donny shame.
I've heard that Marie he has lain.
For me it's now a latter day.
When his show replays, I don't stay. . .
Run away or think "slay."
Donny shame, depart, my Donny shame!
I will never watch, noooooo, his lame show again.
I've seen the error of my ways.
When his show replays, no delay
Of gunplay, TV slay.
Donny's face, nie Wiedersehen.* Gone, the shame.
*Never to be seen again.
'Cause now I realize he's lame.
TV show, viewed religiously.
While I watched I'd eat, many treats,
Scratch my feet and my seat.
Donny shame, marred by Donny shame.

"Marie he has lain." Wha? Too bad you didn't even talk about the old Donny & Marie Show , when he was "a little bit rock and roll" and she was "a little bit country". And he wore purple socks. And the show had a different ice skating routine each week. Ah, the '70s.
big toothy grin here..5s
Sounds like some kind of (incredibly bad pun to follow) osmosis you're going through...555
I was watching "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" on DVD over the weekend, and when this came on, a parody idea started fermenting....but it had nothing to do with an Osmond. Might post it later this week. This, however was great...weird, but great. 555
Thanks, Agrimorfee, Alvin, Kristof, Rick--how about Os at the Ozzfest?
This isn't YOUR fault, John, but the notion that English-speaking people seem to think that "schoen" rhymes with "Jane" always cracks me up :)
Have you seen his new Sprint commercial? The dork still thinks he's a Jackson. Then again, his wardrobe might be more normal than Michael's. But for ruining "Go Away Little Girl," Donny should get all ones in perpetutity. ("Puppy Love" was a Paul Anchor song, so it was already ruined.)
