Song Parodies -> Sloppy Cop
| Original Song Title: | "Rocky Top" |
| Original Performer: | University of Tennessee Marching Volunteers |
| Parody Song Title: | "Sloppy Cop" |
| Parody Written by: | Michael Pacholek |
Tribute to Detective Andy Sipowicz, played by Dennis Franz on "NYPD Blue." You don't like it, I'm gonna have Andy crack yer skull, scumbag! (Sorry, drifted into character there.) The original song was written by Felice & Boudleaux Bryant, the husband-and-wife team behind many of the Everly Brothers' hits.
I wish I worked with that sloppy cop
down in the 15th Precinct.
All the skells hate seein' sloppy cop.
They're gonna get themselves clinked.
Andy Sipowicz is the sloppy cop.
Half bear, other half cub.
Wild as a beast but loyal to his friends.
I still love that old shlub.
Oh, sloppy cop, you'll always be
pride of N-Y-P-D!
Good old sloppy cop!
Sloppy cop, N-Y-C!
Once two bad guys chased by sloppy cop
tryin' to get away with a kill.
Sittin' up at Rikers 'cause o' sloppy cop.
Reckon they always will.
Hair won't grow at all on sloppy cop.
Waistline is too big by far.
At least we finally stopped that sloppy cop's
hangin' around the bar.
Oh, sloppy cop, you'll always be
pride of N-Y-P-D!
Good old sloppy cop!

good ole' (?) Pacholek
funny concept
An OS that I somewhat remember singing at a nature camp when I was a kid (along with Rocky Racoon which at the time I didn't know was a Beatles Tune), which looking back I'm not sure why we sang it; it's a bit racy for kids ("Wild as a mink but sweet as soda pop, I still dream about that") and we were not in Tennessee. Oh well, fun sing, good parody.
I like parodied Country songs...this is not sloppy, at all..good one for fives
Michael...where did you hear this? The pacing, I'm sorry to say is way off base. I listen to the song all the time, having UT as our football team in Knoxville. It was a good tribute, though. 3-5-4
This was a funny one.
