The Lyrics

I watched this show as a kid, and Mari is amazed that I can sing every word of it from memory, but I can't remember our own songs.
Everybody knows for the second wife
We all wind up older and wiser
We know the right one comes along
When we see her we recognize her
Well, you all my think my story
Has a hole three miles wide
But get grossed out or not my mother dear
Became my blushing bride

In our house
She's my very own darling spouse
Moved to West Virginia
Where they don't think it's strange
She's pampered me all my life, you see
And I ain't gonna change

My mother, my wife
My mother, my life
Listen to recordings. We sing better than Ethan. Really.

You mean somebody actually remembers the words to "My Mother The Car" besides me?!? LOL--funny, meets the pacing of the original (not many folks out there qualified to make that statement, I suspect!). The logical extension of "Stacy's Mom"...

. . . and I thought I was old. Remember the show (Jerry Van Dyke and Ann Southern) but I can't remember the tune - hey, I was only 4 or 5 then. Ran for one year, if I remember correctly. I'll search for the original tonight and get back to you with the vote. Gotta love old TV shows/ bob

Rick DKTOS - I can sort of remember the show, in a vague sort of way, but not the theme song. Not even a little. My mind was not set to remember music in my younger years...it was, however, a sponge for sports statistics. Let's see - Tommy Davis hit .346 with 27 Home Runs and 153 rbi's for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1962. I'm pretty certain that's correct. Now, what did I do with my eyeglasses? Where's my wallet? Did I remember to eat dinner tonight?

Didn't realize you almost as much a geezer as me, Alvin.
