The Lyrics

The finale of the rock opera Mommy.
(Nurse Trudy:) Let's put you in straps
Guess you're wondering why they're there
We've had one Mommy
Pull out the doctor's hair
Please sir, won't you follow me?
We'll have a little talk
Now, put on these booties
Put on these Doc robes
Now is not the time to walk!

(Mommytobe:) Hey, you lousy punk! You moron!
(Daddytobe:) What is the fuss?
(Mommytobe:) You're a [bleep]ing mother[bleep]er!
(Daddytobe:) Now please don't cuss!
(Mommytobe:) Hey, you bastard Mr. Husband
(Daddytobe, sotto voce:) My ears try to adjust
(Mommytobe:) You , yes, the one who did this to me!
You stinking pile of pus!

I'm not gonna take drugs!
(Daddytobe:) You're not gonna take drugs?
(Mommytobe:) I'm not gonna take drugs!
(Dr.:) You're not gonna take drugs?

(Mommytobe:) I'm not gonna take drugs!
It's natural, and cuts the bills
I'm not gonna take drugs!
I won't fake it, I can take it
Please don't give me shots or pills

(Dr:) No drugs for Mommy?
You will not ever yield?
Not even ether?
Your fate is sealed!
You are a brave thing,
Though your husband's looking green!
Here comes nice Nurse Trudy to hook you to
The EKG machine!

(Mommytobe, a bit later:) I'm not sure I'll make it!
(Daddytobe:) Yes, you're gonna make it!
(Mommytobe:) I'm not sure I'll make it!
(Daddytobe:) Yes, you're gonna make it!

(Mommytobe:) I'm not sure I'll make it!
How much longer now until?
I'm finding religion!
Oh God, please please end this hell!

(Daddytobe:) I ain't gonna leave you!
Never did and never will!
(Dr:) It's crowning, stand back, you!
(Daddytobe:) So proud of you!
(Mommytobe:) You're the best too!
(Daddytobe:) Let's just get past this big hill!

(Babytobe becomes BABY:)
AB CD Tee Hee Wee-wee
AB CD Crampy Icky
AB CD-E FG Ready Push me
AB CD-E FG Daddy Mommy

(Mommytobe is MOMMY:)
Listening to "GOO"
It sounds like music
Play peekaboo
Smile is so sweet
Winnie the Pooh
Waits in your crib now
I'm so excited, so complete

(Daddytobe is DADDY:)
Doc, we thank you
(Dr:) Shucks, I've done millions!
(DADDY:) To you, we give the glory
(Dr:) No, you, you are the parents
It's you
Who make the story

(DADDY, BABY, MOMMY alternate lines:)
He looks like you, one in a million
Goo Goo!
My little kiwi!
Goo Goo!
I'll teach you life's lessons
Goo Goo!
I'll read you stories

(MOMMY:)
Listening to "GOO"
It sounds like music
Play peekaboo
Smile is so sweet
Winnie the Pooh
Waits in your crib now
I'm so excited, so complete

(The trio again:)
He looks like you, one in a million
Goo Goo!
My little kiwi!
Goo Goo!
I'll teach you life's lessons
Goo Goo!
I'll read you stories

(Repeat above through fadeout)

I've been watching this unfold from the curtains (Or was that the curtains unfolding?) Congrats. You made it through the whole thing, which is more than I did with JC Superstar. And it covers a lot of ground. Oops, that was the baby covering a lot of ground.

Happy Birthday Agrimorfee Jr.

Seeing as how this is a song about a baby (and you know what babies frequently do) ... might there be more than one meaning to "Winnie the Pooh / Waits in your crib now"?

(SOTM) I didn't understand a whole lot about this parody, but I love the song and the album a lot, so I award you 433.

Kind of a back-handed vote there, Chris? In 7-15 years, you'll understand it more.

(SOTM) LOL great job

(SOTM) Congratulations on finishing this album, Agrimorfee! Although I couldn't follow it all due to time constraints and not having the Tommy album, this stands alone quite well. Great work on the short lines. The second verse was my favorite, as well as the end being the beginning. Little Aggy to be will have a great start into the world.

(SOTM) Dang, I gotta do me on o' them whole album parodies some time. Now which one to do? Hmmm, maybe...no I swear American Idiot's done before....anyway, great parody, Agri!

(SOTM) now, if I'm not mistaken, and please note that I followed this verse VERY carefully, it's the mommy who says to the baby "my little kiwi" right?......er, Ag mate, you sure she didn't hang with any New Zealanders just under a year ago? - congrats on finishing Agri - that is a huge herculean Whoculean effort - 555

This is really good! And quite timely, since my new wife is six weeks pregnant :)---MM

Nice one, Agri. I enjoyed the subject matter. Enjoyed this sub the most:
"Here comes nice Nurse Trudy to hook you to
The EKG machine!"

(SOTM) Now that I've got a working PC and some time up my sleeve, I'll HAVE to go back and read the whole project, Agri...this was stupendous fun, Agri. 555

Hey Stu-- the kiwi reference actually came from real life (as did many of the Mommy tracks). Mrs. A. called the fetus "my little Kiwi" for the first few months. (A family friend called her first one "pumpkin" for a while!) But now we know that Daniel Louis will be dropping sometime in March 2007!
Hey MM--did you read the rest of the "rock opera"? (guess i need to make a page for it...). See my Author page in the meantime...
Hey all, thanks for the votes!

I guess I'm going to have to find the prequel(s) to find out why "Birth" is the finale to "Mommy", rather than the overture...
Jeff Reuben - November 29, 2006 - Report this comment
Yes, congrats, I imagine I get more out of this now than I would have, say, 20 months ago? =)

(ABC4) your explanation notwithstanding, Ag, her reason for deciding on the native New Zealand animal as her petname of choice was...? j/k - it must be almost first birthday time - and a new parody for that too?
Kristof Robertson - September 19, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC4B) a fine piece from your herculean project, Ag....great stuff

(ABC) This one fit snug, why so many 'not-perfect' votes? I thought you followed the rhyme scheme superbly well
Jeff Reuben - September 19, 2007 - Report this comment
Just random votes, most likely. Excellent job, and congratulations again!
