The original performers -- actually, the song dates back to the Sinatra era, if not originating with Frank himself -- are not the Detroit Temptations. This was a white Brooklyn doo-wop group, hence the weird opening. This was their only hit, and they'd broken up before the Motown group began a string of about 40 hits under the name, including the totally different-sounding "Just My Imagination." This was inspired by my misadventure in Cleveland and Pittsburgh last weekend.
