Song Parodies -> Paste It Back
| Original Song Title: | "Paint It Black" |
| Original Performer: | The Rolling Stones |
| Parody Song Title: | "Paste It Back" |
| Parody Written by: | Adagio |
I thought it read bored and I went to paste it back.
I have not learned 'ignore', must take a dif'rent tack.
I see blue curls walk by, guess I'm in my old prose.
It burns what they have said it does not come to blows.
I hear the whine of cars they're all faint in the back
That glower I thought was, was only just some yak
I see people burn their threads they quickly type away
And like a stillborn bard, seems to happen on my day.
I look inside myself see that my hurt is back
I see my good door and I must have closed it back
Maybe then I'll trade dismay and I'll not have to get too lax
It's not easy facing up when you just can't detach.
No more will my mien see and burn a deeper hue
It's not up to me this thing hammering in two.
If I keep my guard up then no harm will be done
Write of whims, laugh with me, make up your own poems.
I hear the whine of cars they're all faint in the back
That glower I thought was, was only just some yak
I see people burn their threads they quickly type away
And like a stillborn bard, seems to happen on my day.

Sounds like a case of writer's black. 5s.
Hehe...thanks, John.
This song's all shades of gray, it's not just white and black
It's sure to puzzle those who like things white and black
Bravo to Adagio, who writes subjective verse!
Ha-ha to the clowns who find all subtlety a curse!

Thank you, Johnny, for the comment and the verse. :)

Thanks Stu. :D (yes - we do)

Hehehe....thanks Guy. That was clever.
thou art indeed a poet.....5s
Thanks Alvin.
(ABC) Paint me confused.
Confusedly I thank you, Agri.
(P) I recall some "hmms" in TOS and a different outro and since I am beyond confused (I thought this might be about editing/Photoshop from the title) by the content I am going to have to refrain voting this one. Sorry Pat.
(ABC05) - see above - one of those only-adagio-really-gets-it ones, adagio :-)
Thanks, Stu. You CAN go into your subconcious and see how the parody applies to you. : )
*tries to turn key - dammit!* *tries to twist handle - dammit!* *bangs on door loudly - dammit!*
it's not letting me in adagio....

(ABC) See above!
No, no Stu! :) You have to "coax" the door open with charm, not force. : )
Thanks, Johnny.
Thanks, Johnny.
(ABC) Adagio...as much as I enjoy trying to decipher your parodies, I just couldn't get my blockhead around this one. But your crypticity (is that a word?) is always inspiring
Thanks Kristof. I realize that SOME of my parodies are hard to understand, but I thought it would be judged on pacing, etc. But, whether a person likes it or not is entirely up to them. Thanks again. : )

Thanks Johnny...this means a lot to me, especially today.
(ABC) Hot Rocks album cover pretty much sums up the experience of reading your works, Adagio. Mystical stuff.
Thanks Luke...I guess.
(ABC05) I went to my subconscious but, all I heard was some snarling and grunting sounds. Interesting and enigmatic parody, Adagio. 555
LOLOL! Thanks, Rick C.
Hmm... "Like a stillborn bard"? Kinda worrying. But "..burn their threads and quickly type away" was inspired.
Thanks, Phil. Not to worry...thanks for liking my 'inspired' sentence. : )
ABC--I have to join the 'huh?' crowd on this one...but it paced well...=)
ABC: Well done!
