Well, Warnings about Safe Driving/Dangers of DUI Motoring & Poor Taste...Sort of go together in a parody, don't they? Anyway, shortly after Princess Diana's unfortunate death I'd had about enough of the constant "24/7" grief and despair and so I wrote this parody. Yes, it's in poor taste. But I don't think any poorer than the regular Broadcast News reporting of this awful accident and the following speculation, etc., For those who have forgotten (sigh), Lady Diana Spencer and Dodi Fayed, her fiancee, were killed in a messy, high-speed auto accident, apparently trying to escape the prying photo-lenses of "papparazzi" photographers. The ill-fated couple's driver, Henri Paul, was said to be intoxicated. So here goes....
Dodi! Wants to wed the Princess
Dodi! Now she's dead, the Princess
Dodi, Di' is dead just like a stone.
She was blonde, she was tall
'Til Henri hit the wall
She's no longer quite the dreamboat at all
All splattered!
All blood and gush and bones
'Cause Henri had another drink before the road
Dodi!
Dodi! Now she's dead, the Princess
Dodi, Di' is dead just like a stone.
She was blonde, she was tall
'Til Henri hit the wall
She's no longer quite the dreamboat at all
All splattered!
All blood and gush and bones
'Cause Henri had another drink before the road
Dodi!

Paul...Not bad...I'll be taking a look at some of your other parodies as well since you took the time to look at some of mine. You hit the Dixie Chicks parody, if you want my political views, check out "Get The Bombing Started": http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/pink24.shtml I rarely write political stuff, but there was a parody contest at the time where we had to write a political parody, so I went for it.
Jeff Reuben - Thanks, this was early stuff for me, hadn't done too many complete parodies before. Yes, I usually try to steer clear of political parodies in my work but occasionally (especially these days)my dander gets worked up (as you probably noticed) and I've go to put it out there. Will be looking at the above mentioned parody and some of your other stuff. I've been trying to get a look at a sampling or more of as many different author's stuff as possible. Didn't have time when I only had Net access from work and so I've only recently starting delving.
Not funny. Dodi was a really person that meant alot to many people. Have some feeling, well at least try.
Terrible. The author should be ashamed.
This is very real, and that is what happened to this beautiful Princess, who reigns now in our hearts!
