Parody Song Title:

"At Twenty-Three"

Parody Written by:

The American Research Group has George W. Bush's approval rating at 22 percent: http://www.americanresearchgroup.com. Time to count it down.
I curse the day we found you.
Arithmetic confounds you.
Now we approve you
at 23.

Don't take this as just grumbling.
This job you have been fumbling.
Now we approve you
at 23.

Each day you're leading
we have been bleeding.
The guy who's preceding
much better, you see.

So go and leave us, Dubya.
Make way now for Obama.
Because you've fallen
to 23.

Each day you're leading
we have been bleeding.
The guy who's preceding
much better, you see.

So go and leave us, Dubya.
Make way now for Obama.
Because you've fallen
to 23.

I don't doubt the validity of the poll you reference, but a Gallup taken within the last week, http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Top_News/2008/05/14/approval_of_us_congress_ties_record_lows/4833/, shows Bush at 29% - nothing to brag about, but substantially higher than the 18% approval rating for the Democrat-controlled Congress.

John, since November '06 there's been three special elections to fill vacancies in House of Representatives. The Democrats have won all three. Including Tuesday in... Mississippi. Where the GOP tried to link the Democratic nominee to Obama and Rev. Wright. He won 54-46. That should tell you what people really think, if not of the Democrats, then certainly of the Republican ticket of Bush-McCain -- which is what the ticket is no matter who McCain ends up picking for his running mate. If the Repubs can't win in Miss'ippi, if what used to be the most racist State in the country is saying, "To hell with the man's color, he's not a Bush Republican, so we want him," November 4 could be a tsunami at the polls.

MP - First, your attempt to link the Republican Party and racism is completely without basis. Even though Democrats usually receive approximately 90% of votes from Blacks, Republican policies (such as school vouchers and privatizing social security) would benefit them more than Democratic policies.

Secondly, you might be right about the November tsunami, but it seems inconsistent of you to consider President Bush's low ratings as a big deal (worthy of at least 10 parodies) and the low ratings of Congress to be insignificant.
