| Parody Song Title: | "Landed on Boardwalk" |
| Parody Written by: | Spaff.com |
Oh, right before your turn I'd have sworn the game was through
I was so low on cash that I mortgaged my railroads - then you
LANDED ON BOARDWALK!
THAT'S OWNED BY MEEEEEE!
I'm the undisputed king of
Monopoly!
(Now you're on Boardwalk!)
My proper-tee!
(Yeah, you're on Boardwalk!)
Give your money to me!
('Cause you're on Boardwalk!)
Two THOUSAND bucks!
(Dude, you're on Boardwalk!)
I guess being you sucks!
'Cause you're on Boardwalk!
BOARDWALK!
Oh, I know you hoped you'd be landing on Chance instead
But with my awesome luck, I'll bet that the card would have said
"ADVANCE TO BOARDWALK!"
THAT DON'T COME CHEEEEEAP!
Got a hotel on it, baby
Read it and weep!
(Now you're on Boardwalk!)
Do not pass Go!
(You're stuck on Boardwalk!)
I'm the master, you know!
(Look, you're on Boardwalk!)
Glad I bought the dark blues!
(Since you're on Boardwalk!)
Fork it over - you lose!
'Cause you're on Boardwalk!
BOARDWALK!
Oh, count again, you say, flashing one of your stupid smirks
K, you rolled double sixes, and look you were on Water Works...
YOU'RE NOT ON BOARDWALK!
OH MAN, THAT'S LAAAAAAME!
Move to Go and take your money.
I hate this game.

Excellent, original and most imaginative. Very well done. 5+5+5.
Spaff.com, you are amazing....excellent...
Very good song, Spaff! I had one along the same lines, Free Parking (we could make a "monopoly" on songs with this theme =): http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/tompetty1.shtml
Hey, thanks for the comments, guys. And Jeff, I just checked out your "Free Parking" and enjoyed it. I think you could be on to something here - I see a lot of potential in a Community Chest song.
This is beautiful, right up there on the pantheon of Monopoly songs with Jeff's "Free Parking" :-)
Excellent, ROFL!
Entertaining plot!
Spaff, worth taking the Chance, eh?
Need all that property to house your many wives, eh? Great job as usual.
Oh, Claude, if you only knew.... And I tell you what, $200 sure doesn't buy as much of a house as it used to.
Advance to Go. Collect three 5's.
I haven't had this much fun with a monopoly since the stupid Reagan Administration broke up The Phone Company. Great job!
I really enjoyed this one...love to play Monopoly too. Are you going to record it? Oh, btw ...5's :D
Playing Monopoly will never be the same again!! LOL!
You gotta record this, man.
and yet another thing I had also thought up...but yours came out a lot better than mine would've ever...good job!
Thanks, everyone, for the love. If I got even one of you to pull out a Monopoly board and count the spaces from Water Works, then my mission was successful. Pat and Rice: Hopefully Robert will record this - of course I'll let you know if he does. Pacholek: Your new nickname is Michaelopedia. Mike Florio: Sorry I pre-empted you. And speaking of Sorry, that's also a board game with some parody potential....
I actually knew that there are 12 spaces from Water Works to Go :-D
i thought that it was great, and its really funny when sung 2 newyork new york
I've been sitting here trying to compose a witty reply to lard lad, but my wits have failed me. "New York, New York"?
Great song. I think the next time I play monopoly i'm gonna be singing that whenever someone lands on boardwalk.
I'm just catching up to and on to you and damn, you're good. This is one of those that seems so obvious once I see that you did it, but realise quickly I wouldn't have pulled it off as well. Punch line and everything.

Howdy. Spaff here with a request. Robert Lund is putting out a Christmas CD with a few non-Xmas bonus tracks on the end. We have to decide by TONIGHT what those bonus songs will be. Would y'all be kind enough to give me your opinion on two things:
(1) Is this recording strong enough to be one of the few bonus tracks?
(2) Which of our recordings would you most like to see on CD?
I know I haven't earned your comments recently because I've been gone and unable to reciprocate on y'all's parodies, but please forgive me for that, and I promise to catch up eventually.
I'm not trying to turn this board into a Spaff-fest (not that there's anything wrong with that), so if you'd rather email me, please do so: spaff@spaff.com. For a refresher on what the options are, go to spaff.com and any title listed with the musical notes next to it is up for consideration. (Ignore those in the Elves Gone Wild column - they're already on the CD.)
Thank you! And I'll make sure that amiright gets mentioned in the liner notes.

Spaff-- I finally caught up to hearing your recording, and it's the best I've heard so far. At least of the ones I've been able to download. And it's very much in line with the sort of thing I do, and want to get into. My wife and I have been recording and playing all the parts for years, but we're both doofuses when it comes tho the MP3 webbery. I would also to know what you played and sang on your song. And yes it's good enough to include on anyone's album. (And would be the highlight on most.)
Rick: Thanks! Alas, I'm no musician. Whenever my lyrics get recorded, it's the way-too-talented Robert Lund who does all of the instruments and vocals. (I did the pseudo-Kermit on "Superfrog," but otherwise it's all Robert.)
Hey Spaff! Just wandered thru yer older stuff and really got a laff outta all, even if it was'nt you singing...great lyrics Spaffer!
Best Sports/Games Parody
Any song about a game which is such a universally recognisable element of popular culture like this will resonate with many people.... a good parody and a good choice..
Belated thanks, Smurf & Mr. Horse & Martha, for rolling the dice (cough, cough) on this oldie.
Good job, Spaff, and a tip of the hat to MarthaDTox for the comment mention that led me here. Your parody was posted before I came onto the site so I was not aware of it. 5-5-5
More belated thanks, this time to Paul. I hope you get out of jail free.
(parodying "Our House" by Madness) " Park Place/It's my second-favorite space/Park Place " I love your parody. I'm surprised I didn't find it until I looked up the links related to the practical joke just now-take the Chance Card, advance to Marvin Gardens and pick the three "5's" growing there-thanks!
Thanx, Thought Cops. What practical joke?
(Park Place/the "deuce" to Boardwalks' "ace"/Park place...)--oh! I was referring to the April fools joke in the news entries section(the one that reads that"Weird Al has agreed to perform a parody submitted to this site...) after reading the newer comments on the story,I first read the parody related to the song("I fell for april fool's"'originally "I lost on jeopardy", by Weird Al Yancovic, the parody by Chris Bodily TM .From there ,I somehow found this one by you-i forget how ,oh well, just click on "what's new" at the bottom of the index and have a look(under "April Fools"-you might still be surprised!) (Hmmmm, now why can't ALL the properties in Monopoly have their own theme song-I know! It's because so little rhymes with"Meditteranean"!)
I loved it. One of the two funniest songs I've heard on this site so far. It made me laugh when so many other songs were so bad I couldn't even listen all the way through.
Belated thanx, Frank. There's some great stuff on here - don't give up quite yet.
Thought Cops: Thanx for clarifying. Yeah, my heart skipped a beat when I saw Chucky's April Fool's post. But then reality reared its ugly head all too quickly.

Thank heavens! A song that I actually knew AND had good lyrics!
abantoid: You're welcome.

and a one and a two....two votes
Thanx, john (please apologize to your coworkers for me) & Billy (again)!
Yikes - if anyone is wondering where all the new votes on this are coming from - so am I. It's flattering, but it's a little weird.
I heard this, and thought it was awesome!!! One of my favs or yours now LOL
Belated thanx, Jackie. I'm hoping that this will show up on a CD sometime this year. We'll see.
This year is Monopoly's 70th Anniversary! (Parker Brothers patented the game in 1935.)
Hey, good point, David. You should post that on all the Monopoly parodies. Heh heh.
Like your Board games, huh? Funny stuff. Collect $555.
Wow - I didn't expect Ralphing Luke to visit me HERE. (Did Eminem sample this or something?) A belated welcome. And I hear you won second place in a beauty contest. Congrats. (Ten bucks is ten bucks.)
