A tribute to my most frequent form of exercise, whlch can present its own minor difficulties. No, I usually don't go for 8 miles at a time, but if any of you tell me to take a hike, I gladly will.
Eight mile hike, is quite a long way
You'll find an adventure, I'll say
Signs on the trail that say where you're going
Are nowhere and you're on your own
Not too much, is shade to be found
Too much of the time, the sun's beating down
You'll hear birds*, known for their sounds
In places wild critters abound
Afterwards, feet are in pain
Got blisters, you need novacaine
Campfire tales, you've got some to tell
Some scary, some funny as hell
