Song Parodies -> Buy A Star
| Original Song Title: | "Drive My Car" |
| Original Performer: | The Beatles |
| Parody Song Title: | "Buy A Star" |
| Parody Written by: | MasonR |
Late one night I was watching TV
A smooth voice said, "join the registry"
A stellar concept! A star named for me!
Amazing what you can get for a fee
Baby you can buy a star
Or you can fill up your car
Baby if you buy a star
Then you are a sucker
Another ad said my knives are no good
A plastic chopper, buy this I should
It dices, slices, but not very fine
And it only costs $12.99
Baby you can buy a star
Or you can fill up your car
Baby if you buy a star
Then you are a sucker
Rip rip, rip off, yeah!
Baby you can buy a star
Or you can fill up your car
Baby if you buy a star
Then you are a sucker
Then this guy said to build better abs
he said "listen bub, buy this though it's a slab"
But I changed channels'I couldn't say yes
And made a contribution to PBS
Baby you can buy a star
Or you can fill up your car
Baby if you buy a star
Then you are a sucker
Rip rip, rip off, yeah!
Rip rip, rip off, yeah!
Rip rip, rip off, yeah!
Rip rip, rip off, yeah!

First magnitude.
This parody glitters!
hey, i bought MYSELF a star...i call it alvin centauri..nah, just kidding, but i loved your song...great concept...5s
Beating up on the star-naming scammers gets a big thumbs up from me! Well written.
Thanks all! I actually got the idea for this song years ago, while watching an episode of "The Magic Schoolbus" with my kids. The sleazy star-naming character was voiced by Dabney Coleman (how's that for trivia?)
