The Lyrics

Heres a very special tribute to my favorite B&W movie on the occasion
of the 40th anniversary of its release!
It's been a hard day's knight, in white satin, don't reach the end.
It's been a hard day's knight, letters I've written, don't mean to send.
The truth is you I adore, beauty did not see before
Because I love you, all right.

You know I gaze at folks, some of them walking hand in hand
And just what they are going through, you know they cannot
understand
Some try to tell 'em to me, but you will be what you'll be
And that is all right by me

So breathe deep all of the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from each and every room, oh yeah!

It's been a hard day's knight, in white satin, look back, lament.
It's been a hard day's knight, today is useless, energy's spent.
The lovers they do the twist, a lonely man strains his wrist
But you and me are tight.

A new mom picks up and suckles her son
The old folks, they wish that they were still young, young yeah!

It's been a hard day's knight in white satin, cold-hearted orb.
It rules the night and then throws all of the color out the door.
But red is grey, yellow white, illusions? No that's not right
It's time for a rewrite, it's time for a rewrite
It's time for a rewrite

OK MasonR, you've inspired me to take on a challenge --- I am now working on a parody of "Nights In White Satin" using lyrics taken from "A Hard Day's Night"! We'll see if it's worth posting....stay tuned!

Great job, Mason!

Kudos. This is something I've tried and failed to do on many occasions. It's tough both lyrically and musically. I tried combining two Beatle songs (called "Help Me Let It Be") and the results were laughably awful.

Clever job, dude, in the grand tradition of "Stairway To Gilligan's Island" and Weird Al's "Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies"! 555

Hey all, this is great feedback (I guess I'm a sucker for praise)! Johnny D: Good luck--I can't wait to see how A Hard Satin's Night turns out ;-). Rick D: Hmm, I'm not sure those two would work. I tried a few lines and got the same results as you. I guess you have to have the right two songs to mush together. Agrimorfee: thank you for the complement! I was actually thinking of "Stairway to Gilligan's Island". This is my second attempt at putting two songs together. The first was a combination of "Stacys Mom" and Hendrix's "Purple Haze" (http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/jimihendrix29.shtml) which also came out pretty good. Hmmmm, maybe I should try blending some more song pairings?

MasonR, I just submitted, for the next posting, "Nights After A Hard Dog-Day's Night / Late Whimper", a parody of "Nights In White Satin / Late Lament" by The Moody Blues. I credit this parody of yours, "A Hard Day's Knight In White Satin", in my new parody's top-comments-section.

I hope you get a chuckle or two from it, MasonR .... thanks for the inspiration! ;-D

Real busy weekend - only had time to check out one parody today - but this one was definitely worth it! I loved the colours going out the door! ;-D

How did I miss this one? The same way Alex Rodriguez missed baseballs: Continuously since July! Unlike, A-Rod, however, this is worth the hype! I love combined parodies, and as such songs go, this one's better than most!
