The Lyrics

#25 in H2G2/White Album. This song was inspired at a sci-fi convention I went to recently. It's about the band Disaster Area and how their rock concerts decimate the planet they're on. Seriously, the amps and audio setup are the size of a city and anyone who isn't in a bunker or in orbit is a goner. ENJOY!
When you look at the planet
All the amps will be touching the sky
If you’re down on the ground you will probably die
When they shred and they’re playing and the music begins
Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Do you, don't you want ‘em to rock you?
You’ve stolen their ship, now escape it you’ve got to
Head for cover, brother, come on move it and faster.
Better find you a bunker for this band, Disaster.

Head for shelter,
Shreds will melt ya
Head for shelter,
Yeah!

Still you - want to - try to survive it
The drumming breaks ground, the rhythm is seismic
Don’t be dopey, you will be flattened
The audio rigging is the size of (Man)-hattan

Look out!
Head for shelter,
Planet felt her,
Head for shelter!

Look out! You better run!

All the fans are in orbit
In a ring, that is made out of stands
As they cheer and they yell for their favorite band
The Disaster will rock ‘em
As the tremors extend, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Solos, oh no, surface is breaking
They’re playing their best, the planet’s a-quaking
Drummer slumbers, singer had mad gins,
The studio hired back-up, robot stand-ins

Look out!
Head for shelter
Alpha-delta,
Head for shelter
Look out!
Head for shelter
They rock the land mass,
Yes they do,
Yes they do ...
Bring it all down…
Down…

(Long Disaster Area Solo)

I don't remember this part of the book. Which one was it in? This was a great parody even without knowing about them from the book and it reminds me of a comic that I'm working on.

The Vogons should have sent this band to Earth and avoided all the hustle...

Thanks for the great comments Matt and Peter. And all the support. Matt, this is in the 2nd book 'Restaurant at the End' about midway through the book. If you stopped reading midway through that book you probably just missed it. They dine and see the Universe End, and then you learn about the band when they try to escape.
