| Original Song Title: | "Her, There, and Everywhere" |
| Original Performer: | The Beatles |
| Parody Song Title: | "Here, There and Everywhere is a Starbucks" |
| Parody Written by: | Rick Duncan |
Continuing my complete butchery of my favorite band, I submit more parodies written around the time the Anthologies came out. I know there may be ideas similar to what's already here, but oh well. P.S.,I have new website under construction.
To make a coffee cup
I need Starbucks to be here
Here, more of them every year
Charging a price that is way above cost
Profits aren't lost
By anyone working there
There, popping up everywhere
No one is thinking, "why do we come here?"
There's no atmosphere
And good music is quite rare
I see them everywhere
All the coffee houses with
A corporate logo there
But they have no trouble
Filling every chair
Look at the lemmings in there
Each one believing that
Starbucks is chic
But it's pretty weak
But patrons don't seem to care
I swear they're everywhere
Here there and everywhere
I need Starbucks to be here
Here, more of them every year
Charging a price that is way above cost
Profits aren't lost
By anyone working there
There, popping up everywhere
No one is thinking, "why do we come here?"
There's no atmosphere
And good music is quite rare
I see them everywhere
All the coffee houses with
A corporate logo there
But they have no trouble
Filling every chair
Look at the lemmings in there
Each one believing that
Starbucks is chic
But it's pretty weak
But patrons don't seem to care
I swear they're everywhere
Here there and everywhere

Missed this first time around, but it came up on a random search :-) Short, but sweet - just how I don't like my coffee
As living musicians, we hate the Starbucks philosophy, canned music, get em in/get em out/ fancy names.....etc It's truly the McDonalds of coffee shops.
Thanks to Phil, I also found this li'l ditty. Starbucks began as an experiment to see just how much the American public WOULD be willing to spend for a cup of coffee. LOL
Great and clever parody! And you're right about Starbucks' taste--somehow everything I've drunk there makes me imagine I'm licking the inside of a very old toaster.
