Song Parodies -> I Steal
| Original Song Title: | "I Will" |
| Original Performer: | The Beatles |
| Parody Song Title: | "I Steal" |
| Parody Written by: | Max Power |
This song is about Eric Bauman who was said to steal other people's work and claim it as his own by placing it on his website www.ebaumsworld.com and slap his trademark tag on it. Whether he did steal or not, I don't know but assuming he did, this is what he would've sung.
Who knows how long they have known
Everyone knows I steal
But now that my cover is blown
Just to let you know I steal
Everytime they have seen me
They knew of my web fame
But the price is not a small fee
As it'll never be the same
Catch me if you can right now and then
You'll never bring me down
I'll keep on stealing when I still can
You'll never bring me down
Just catch me if you can
This song will let you know
All these stuff will not hit the fan
I know you all hated me so
For the things I have stolen from you
And you know I steal
I steal
Ooo, la
Everyone knows I steal
But now that my cover is blown
Just to let you know I steal
Everytime they have seen me
They knew of my web fame
But the price is not a small fee
As it'll never be the same
Catch me if you can right now and then
You'll never bring me down
I'll keep on stealing when I still can
You'll never bring me down
Just catch me if you can
This song will let you know
All these stuff will not hit the fan
I know you all hated me so
For the things I have stolen from you
And you know I steal
I steal
Ooo, la
Here it is.

Certainly a unique idea Max, deffinitely unique
(SOTM) Ooh la.
I was confused... I'm not really sure who Eric Bauman is...
I take it (no pun intended) that it's about this:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EBaum
(SOTM) Thanks Peter for the wiki link...the parody would've gone WAY over my head without it! But now it didn't - it hit me square in the eyes! Brill job, Max!
(SOTM) Stolen
So, do we expect to see this parody turn up on ebaumsworld with an ebaumsworld.com tag on? I like the idea, but I think you could have improved on the execution a little.
A parody of such a short and relatively obscure song would have to be absolutely brilliant for SOTM consideration, and, well, this isn't.
I use to frequent Ebaumsworld quite often, but haven't been there in a while. Without referencing Eric Bauman in the parody itself, hearing this would leave the listener wondering what it's about. Like Phil said, good idea that could have used a bit better execution.
(SOTM) still unique. . .yes . . .not sure what else to say, but I'm glad to still see you writing for contests. . .Ethan. . .awfully blunt. . .just my opinion. . .
SOTM - I tend to agree with Ethan ... there's nothing wrong with entering a short song into SOTM but it better be good.
(SOTM) what wannabemj said - it's short, and not densely packed with humour, so it's hard to vote for Max, but I liked the idea, and target parodies are what parodies are all about - 555
(SOTM) Sorry to say, not one of your better ones, Max. Seemed a bit aimless, and no specific reference to Mr Bauman or his exploits.
(SOTM) Erk...I hate EBaum's World, and though there wasn't much to work with, this was to the point and lucid.
SOTM- Never heard of this Eric whats-his-name, but I definitely don't agree with plagiarism. Short and sweet, but not a powerhouse for SOTM.
