Song Parodies -> Parody Writers
| Original Song Title: | "Eleanor Rigby" |
| Original Performer: | The Beatles |
| Parody Song Title: | "Parody Writers" |
| Parody Written by: | Rex Ungericht |
Many thanks to the parody writers of AmIRight who made this song possible (see footnote).
When they hear "Sweet Home Alabama"
Then they write "We Cloned Daryl Hannah"
Parody authors
Never content with the lyrics that come with a song
So before long
They start rewriting
Typing the words that they'll post on a parody site
Like AmIRight
All the normal lyrics
Like "Just the Way You Are"
Quickly change to lyrics
Like "Just My Favorite Bar"
Parody authors
Some are prolific and some only write now and then
Women and men
Vive la difference
Some are beginners and some have been writing for years
Give 'em all cheers
All the normal lyrics
Like "Candle In The Wind"
Quickly change to lyrics
Like "Ganja, Pills, and Gin"
When they hear "Hazy Shade of Winter"
Then they write "Crazy Makin' Printer"
Parody authors
Writing new words 'til a song is completely redone
Just like this one
Eleanor Rigby
Now is a song about changing the words of a song
Come sing along
All the normal lyrics
Like "Laughter in the Rain"
Quickly change to lyrics
Like "Grafts Here in the Brain"
Then they write "We Cloned Daryl Hannah"
Parody authors

A wonderful tribute.
That sums it up.....good one. 5's
555, great job, Rex, and thanks for the plug for one of my oldies!
Nice! 555
Very good, 555.
Great job, Rex -- on merit, not just because you gave me a shout-out. "Ganga, Pills and Gin" is one of my favorites, too.
Very well done..
It's what happens when a song gets stuck in your head - you hear it over and over again until you make up your own words.
Excellent & funny parody...well written and nicely researched. Special Applause for the Parody Credits you posted in the Bottom Comments Section. 5's ~ ~ ~
"We Cloned Daryl Hannah" is a groaner, but the rest of your mentions are quite lovely. I can only imagine what a chore it was to come up with just the right parodies to fit this meter, so I hope you had plenty of Tylenol. Which, now that I think about it, isn't a bad sub for Yesterday....
I wrote a tribute to parody people called of all things, parody people instead of everyday people. You did better than me, so I give you props. 5's
Quite nicely done
Many thanks all. I originally thought that I would come up with the parody titles in this song myself, but then realized that I could take the easy way out, um, I mean, honor the fine folks who post here on AmIRight.
Awww...I'm a day late, but am TOTALLY tickled to've been included in this bit of fun. I agree with Spaff that it must have been a chore to find parody titles that fit...way to put for the extra effort! It paid off...this is FABulous!!
