The Lyrics

The bird flu virus. After more than five years of ravaging in one of the most overpopulated, humid and in terms of public hygiene subaverage parts of the world it has now killed almost... let's see... 0.5 people per week. Almost! In fact, I know some female drivers that indirectly have scared more people to death than that. Heck, let's face it, even the winged parodies here on Amiright probably take out more people than that without getting the press they deserve. (Ahem, did that came out right?).
The Bird Flu, yeah, yeah, yeah
The Bird Flu, yeah, yeah, yeah
The Bird Flu, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I cashed in on my cat
When I'd read the press today
It's fools they're chirping at
When they tell us "time to pray"

Here comes the bird flu
And they claim that's kinda bad
Yes, the bird flu's in the tabloids and they're mad

I read it came from crows
And every goose in town
They think I duuh-not know
Their nonstop honking sound

Here comes the bird flu
And they claim that's flocking bad
Yes, the bird flu is a sequel to the mad...
Coooows!

The Bird Flu, yeah, yeah, yeah
The Bird Flu, yeah, yeah, yeah

With a press like that
I think we'll get it bad

And now it's up to you
They've made us all aware
They're here to hurt us, the
Apocalypse is near

Here comes the bird flu
And they claim that's more than bad
Yes, the bird flu is to Fleet Street like the mad...
Coooows!

The Bird Flu, scare, scare, scare
The Bird Flu, scare, scare, scare

With a press like that
We'll get it from the pad

With a press like that
I know we're kinda had

Yes, a press like that
Should get it in... the naaaads

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
© Peter Andersson. (In case you wonder, I figured "Fleet Street" would make more sense in English than using the name of some Swedish tabloid).

Yep, SARS is seriously overblown, regular flu is much more of a threat.

Stephen: Thanx!

Red Ant: It’s worse than that, SARS and H5L1 (the bird flu) aren’t even the same thing. SARS did spread between people but there are so far no known H5L1-cases where that has happened. The closest thing was when siblings that literally had been working in the same infected duck pond (so to say) both got infected. Now if the papers (or Hollywood) really wanna scare us they should hint that the common cold virus or regular flu virus could mutate with the in humans already existing HIV virus!

PMS: If I stay nice until December, will you expand that list to a full ”12 days of Christmas” parody?

Rex: Glad to hear it!

Rick: I tried to pronounce that, but it made me sound like I got the flu already!

Drewster the Rooster: I take it you’re not chickened out either!

Too bad that dead parrot that was found recently in the UK wasn't just " :Pinin' for the fjords " !
