Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Does the Lava Flow or Secrete?"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

You'd never known the power tow'ring 'bove you
You better say now much appealing prayer...

Hissin'
Does the lava flow or secrete?
Does the crevasse start to swell?
Glow-ow-ow-ow, pressure!
Is the fissure gonna clear?
See the boulders flong in air
Magma's on the loose!
Spew-ew-ew-ew-ew

Ign'ous (spew, lav, spew)
Does the lava flow or secrete? (do lav, do)
Does it promise fiery hell? (spew, lav, spew)
Flow-ow-ow-ow, molten! (do lav, do)
Great eruption in the air (spew, lav, spew)
Grey ash hurling here and there
Pi-les up on you!
Goo-oo-oo-oo-oo

Out groaned Vesuv'us when caldera blew
Pompeian blues, Romans stewed!

Virgin! (still brand new)
No attempt to mull or regret (cool, lav, cool!)
True, the sacrifice, it quells? (true, so, true)
Go-oh-oh on, push 'er! (say a-dieu)
Bet the ashes start to clear (they're subdued)
Safe from curse until next year...
Hymen stopped the ooze!

Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooze
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooze
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooze

I just found this one...I love the original song and love this parody too. Bonus points for the clever counter-lyics too.

rhyming every syllable can come unstuck when meaning is sacrificed, but you managed to do it M and P - a masterful tightrope act, you two - 555

Only one beef: where's the word "magma"?
Peregrin - June 16, 2005 - Report this comment
Hi Shiek, 'Magma' is at the end of the first verse :

"See the boulders flong in air
Magma's on the loose!"

Excellent timing for a natural disaster parody! There was an earthquake in California (felt it myself) and a volcano eruption in Mexico.
mandamoo - June 17, 2005 - Report this comment
That was an earth moving experience ! Perfectly put together as always :)

Wandlimb: I felt it yesterday too! And the parody was nicely put together as well.
