Parody Song Title:

"The Waste"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

I pulled into Gaza, was thinkin' there was no sound
No bombs a'fallin, no settlements around
Hey mister can you tell me
Where the Jewish folks are bound?
He just sighed and shook his head
"This used to be their town"

Chorus:
They took a load in buses
Took a load, you see
They took a load in buses
and, and, and
Israel is where
Israel is where
Israel is where they be

I picked up my bag and asked if I could get a ride
Pretty clear, at least round here,
Folks can't live side by side
I said hey Mister, there's homes they bulldozed down
he said "I'd like to know if there's peace to be found"

(Chorus)

Go down, Mr. Moses, and give those folks a hand
Tell Mr. Pharoah you've got a promised land
God parted the Red Sea so they could walk on through
Guess that it's a sure-fire bet there is a home for Jews

(Chorus)

Ghosts of Gaza followed me
The howling of the dogs
People being wrenched away and crying in the fog
I said wait a minute, mister,
Can you find a peaceful man?
He said it was a garden here, now it's nothing but wasteland

They took a load in buses
And it was sad, you see
They razed their homes with dozers
and and and
Israel is where
Israel is where
Israel is where they be

Excellent expression of the trauma drama, people of Gaza must be facing poignant and profound..

I'm always glad to see someone around here write spiritually-heartfelt stuff like this.

Very nicely done, Royce. Good job of painting one of the many wrenching realities of the entire, sad Israeli-Palestinian dilemma. 5's ~ ~ ~

555 for candor. Gaza has been a disputed area since ancient times. That was once the land of the Philistines.

Well, I thank you guys, and to be honest, I left off my last verse--I had it written but just neglected to put it in; I don't like doing that. I know there are masters out there on this site who have done this song, and they know...so I'm coming clean.

Gaza was a wasteland until Israelis moved in and made it habitable, made it bloom, and made it productive. What will it be 5 or 10 years from now? And will the sacrifice be worth it? And whose fault is it that "Folks can't live side by side?" Very well expressed, Royce.
