| Parody Song Title: | "I Raised My Blouse In New Orleans" |
| Parody Written by: | Tim Mayfield |
This is a retrospective on the standard deviation between long ago and now.
I mooned my spouse in '53
The cops showed up with guns
Informing me that there are many demanding
I pay for what I'd done
I danced for those young sailors
They hollered and they screamed
The police came and closed us down
Owner sure got steamed
Now the only way to earn your beads
In this Mardi Gras town
Is to lift your blouse undignified
While folks are looking down
------ ornate solo ------
Oh mayor, gals are thrillin'
All the dudes cast beads upon
Seen these nights with sin's debauchery
Near the spot where they nix'd my fun
Well is it just that times are changin'
And nothin' stays the same
Or is it just in New Orleans
That folks ain't feelin' shame
Cause I raised my blouse in New Orleans
Those cops harassed me some
Now these days young women can do all that and more
Though now it's good clean fun
The cops showed up with guns
Informing me that there are many demanding
I pay for what I'd done
I danced for those young sailors
They hollered and they screamed
The police came and closed us down
Owner sure got steamed
Now the only way to earn your beads
In this Mardi Gras town
Is to lift your blouse undignified
While folks are looking down
------ ornate solo ------
Oh mayor, gals are thrillin'
All the dudes cast beads upon
Seen these nights with sin's debauchery
Near the spot where they nix'd my fun
Well is it just that times are changin'
And nothin' stays the same
Or is it just in New Orleans
That folks ain't feelin' shame
Cause I raised my blouse in New Orleans
Those cops harassed me some
Now these days young women can do all that and more
Though now it's good clean fun

Why is that in New Orleans you can get women to lift their tops for cheap beads but anywhere else they won't do it even for real jewelry?
flashing you some 5s...fun concept
Your guess is as good as mine McKludge, of course we have that silly pirate day thing here where people do it for beads too, never have understood the concept of celebrating being pillaged as a city, but alas, Good job Tim on a novel concept.
For Mr McKluLess: Sir, most women will gladly life their tops for a diamond ring of the engagement type . . .
I really enjoyed this one, Tim. Good work, interesting retrospective!
Thanks McKludge, alvin, BADave, diamondLil, Peregrin.
Raising the blouse, er, bar yet again... :) 5-5-5
The title alone was worth 5s. :-)
Thanks MrMacphisto and Meriadoc.
In case you didn't already know this, any song to the tune of "House of the Rising Sun" may be sung to "Amazing Grace", "Little Town of Bethlehem", "America the Beautiful" and the theme from " Gilligan's Island". Makes the above parody even more surreal.
Very funny - just found this one while looking to see what's already been done with the OR
Thanks Patrick and Andy.
Yea, the title alone says it all. Looks as somebody is an exhibitionist...lol 5's
Whatever became of Eric Burdon ? He had such a unique voice for a Brit. My fav by the Animals was " Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood "
Thanks adagio and LilCUPcakes.
