The Lyrics

This should stirrup some controversy. Now to check the latest gallop poll...
Our little chap
is twelve years old
And can't spell worth a dam;
So we spell out the words we don't
want him to understand:

Like S-U-X or maybe H-O-R
Sometimes F-U-G;
But the words we're hiding from him now
They're saddled with mystery...

'Cuz we ate H-O-R-C-E
in our burgers today!
I just heard on B-B-C
we'll be cravin' some hay--

On Sabbath Day also in our beef
they put P-O-R-Q, you see?
Oh, why does it taste so G-U-D, this H-O-R-C-E!?!

Watch him smile, he drinks his Pepsi
Stuffs more chips in his face...
And he thinks C-R-O-I-K-E-Y
Means "Son, go play!"

News reported that a Polish firm
Mixed up the meats last week--
I can't resist this tasty juice
That's drippin' down my cheek!

'Cuz we ate H-O-R-C-E
in our burgers today!
I just heard on B-B-C
we'll be neighin' some neighs!

On Sabbath Day also in our beef
they put P-O-R-Q, you see?
Oh, why does it taste so G-U-D, this H-O-R-C-E!?!

Many years ago a new restaurant chain showed up in Kansas City, Kansas. The burgers cost 10 cents, rather than the 15 cents charged by the established local chain. The also tasted a bit "different". But, the 5 cent savings meant a lot to a poor family with four hungry kids. My dad said the burgers tasted like horse, which he had eaten while in the army. Not long after that, we saw on the TV news that, sure enough, my dad was right.

Bob - Quit horsing around with that unbridled sense of humor. Three 5s...I'm counting the tail as a fifth limb. ;D

Thanks, Patrick, John and Old Man. This was a news item that begged to be written about. Maybe the funniest thing about the story was that, despite the outrage on the part of patrons and the public apology by BK, the addition of horse meat probably made the burgers lower in fat and higher in protein!!
