The Lyrics

...an homage to the wonderfully creepy score to the movie "psycho" by bernard herrmann...
hello mother, my old friend
i've come to dress like you again
across that cabin i'll be creeping
while that shower water's steeping
and your message will be planted in my brain
i'm insane
the shrieking sound of violins

in younger days, i walked alone
no invasions by a crone
creepy fellow with a style cramped
i turn psychotic and i blow, quite amped
then a girl gets stabbed
in a flash when i get uptight
i just can't fight
the shrieking sound of violins

when i regained my mind, i saw
a corpse beneath me on the floor
people searching will come seeking
people lurking will be peeping
people, fearing wrong, will show up at my lair
to clear the air
the shrieking sound of violins

this poor girl, i do not know
least that's how my story goes
killed that girl that it might please you
did her harm that it might ease you
but my world...has become a living hell
the echoes from the hellish violins

twas a capture finally made
ended all my escapades
couldn't say there was no warning
my psychosis was long forming
and the signs said
beware of your mommy, if smitten when a female calls
she'll climb the walls
the sickening loud sound of violins

Someday, Broadway will produce a new play, "Psycho-The Musical". If they don't hire you as the lyricist, they're nuts! 555

Add a brass section, show it on TV many times, and there you have it: Too much sax and violins on television! 555

Clever title and parody, but I had to deduct a pacing point for the violins/silence scanning variance.

The most frequently used leit motif next to that base fiddle music in Jaws. What can you do with that one?
alvin - January 22, 2009 - Report this comment
thanks 2eagle...have to think about it

I echo IB and renaldo's comments. Yep, some violins are known to make great sound effects. I still can't stop thinking about that poor girl's blood flowing down the drain in the shower after being stabbed repeatedly by Norman Bates. Great job. I'll give you props! 555. I've gone "psycho" again for this song!
