Song Parodies -> San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear a Hard Hat On Your Hair)
| Original Song Title: | "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers In Your Hair)" |
| Original Performer: | Scott McKenzie |
| Parody Song Title: | "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear a Hard Hat On Your Hair)" |
| Parody Written by: | Michael Pacholek |
The original was written by John Phillips of the Mamas & the Papas. I don't know what drugs he was taking when he wrote it, but he must've been on something. Probably Janis Joplin, 'cause Michelle was fooling around with Denny Doherty. The "Summer of Love" did have some drawbacks.
If you're going to San Francisco
be sure to wear a hard hat on your hair.
If you come to San Francisco
Barry Bonds will hit some homers there.
For those who come to San Francisco
summertime will see some home runs there.
In the park in San Francisco
yelling people with hard hats on their hair.
All across the nation, there's standing ovatins, people cheering.
There's a baseball sensation, pitchers get palpitations.
People cheering, Giants winning.
For those who come to San Francisco
summertime will see some home runs there.
In the park in San Francisco
yelling people with hard hats on their hair.
If you come to San Francisco
summertime will see some home runs there.
be sure to wear a hard hat on your hair.

Groovy.

Let's Go Giants! See you in the playoffs, I hope. d;:^)
You won't see my team in the Playoffs, Bob. But your Giants may see my team in the World Series...
Baseball is the American sport of summer, and this parody is based on the anthem for the summer(s) of love back in the late 60s, I think I can see the line of thinking that brought this parody to life. :-)
