Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

In Freudian theory, the " id " is the part of the mind that serves as the source of instinctual impulses and demands for immediate satisfaction.
Q's id --- what an ego!
Scanned, yet,
No marrow shows!
Jean-Luc, he'd bother just, for glee, for glee!

Q's id --- he'd merely sigh,
And let,
Enterprise fly
Straight to, the smorgas-Borg, for glee!

"Now, Jean-Luc, I will bother you, 'cause I'm feeling bored
There's danger in the galaxy, they call them The Borg
So your ship I'll hurl to them, they'll know you exist ---
--- and they will be pissed!"

Ohhh ----

Q's id --- it overflows!
Scanned, yet,
No marrow shows!
Jean-Luc, he'd bother just, for glee, omnipotent glee!

Q's id --- he winked an eye,
And let,
Enterprise fly
Straight to, the Delta-Quad, for glee!

"Now, Jean-Luc, I can see you're proud of humanity
And that you think I'm full of arrogant vanity
I know, between the two of us, some fun we will see ---
--- your god I will be!"

Ohhh ---

Q's id --- will "make it so" !
Scanned, yet,
No marrow shows!
Jean-Luc, he'd bother just, for glee, for boredom relief!

Q's id --- he's weirdly sly!
He let,
Enterprise fly
Straight to, the smorgas-Borg, for glee!

Id [sic] give you fives. In fact, I will. "Smorgas-borg," very clever.

555. What are Q's motives, anyway? The Q species seems to have started out as explorers, then got bored when they had learned everything. The main Q we see in Star Trek TNG is, I think, just sadistically playing around with the humans like a bully kid with a troop of ants. Was Q responsible for the Wolf 359 massacre, or did he initiate the Federation's defensive measures against this species? Who can tell? I don't meet a lot of people I can speak to about Star Trek, as you can read, plus I wish I could write Star Trek parodies like this...

I think the official reason stated in some episod was that they/Q "saw the potential in human kind to somewhere in the future rise to their own level of existence". But the unofficial reason was of course the (already discovered by the ancient greeks) handiness of a deux ex machina for kickstarting episods as well as rapping them up with the touch of a hand when necessary. DKTOS, but inspiring.

I think Q was added to the series so that he could give Picard an occasional Q-tip. (Sorry) Another fine parody from the King of Kirk, the Poobah of Picard -- Johnny D!

Just mind your own P's (Picard's) and Q's. Stardate 5.5.5 Johnny!

Wasn't sure if this would be about the Star Trek Q (John DeLancie) or the James Bond Q (Desmond Llewellyn), but you didn't need any Q cards to write this.

Hehe, I know you've been watching ST:TNG re-runs because this episode was on a few days ago (which, of course I've seen countless times but watched again anyway). 5s.

(ABC3) I've always had a take-it-or-leave-it feeling about Star Trek, but sometimes I stuck around for a ST-TNG episode just because Q was in it. Clever wordage here, Johnny.
Michael McVey - February 09, 2007 - Report this comment
Star Trek parodies are usually fun to read, but I don't think I had seen any about Q. Perhaps there should be a sequel about Q's super(sized) ego?----MM
Cat - February 10, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC) Say wha? Being that I know jack squat about both Star Trek and psychology, most of this flew over this poor little cat's head. But I will give you credit for an original concept and a good read!

Mikey Squirrel - February 12, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC) A very good insight into the being we know as Q. I'm more of a Star Wars man myself, but I always enjoyed the intrigue of Q's character in Star Trek. Great job, Johnny. 555

(ABC3-Q) See above, and more kudos for "smorgas-Borg".
Stuart McArthur - February 13, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC3Q) see above - I don't know the characters but I do know the subject-matter and a tightly-paced clever parody when I see one - not to mention the brilliant title sub
