Song Parodies -> I Collect Winnie the Pooh
| Original Song Title: | "King of the Road" |
| Original Performer: | Roger Miller |
| Parody Song Title: | "I Collect Winnie the Pooh" |
| Parody Written by: | Tim Mayfield |
Mailers I haven't sent
Candies and peppermints
Almost have a complete set
But I don't have a Tigger yet
Ah, but if you look into my room
You'll see that I'm quite consumed
Cause I've stacked things up to the ceiling
I collect Winnie the Pooh
18 postcards I've obtained
Envelopes, stickers and picture frames
Posters and figurines too
And bed sheets of Kanga and Roo
I got the whole story leather-bound
An old movie without any sound
And piles of interesting magazines
About Winnie the Pooh
I know every video and every frame
All of the stories and all of the games
All the trivia that's every been found
All of their voices and all of their sounds
I've seen mailers I haven't sent
Candies and peppermints
Almost have a complete set
But I don't have a Tigger yet
Ah, but if you look into my room
You'll see that I'm quite consumed
Cause I've stacked things up to the ceiling
It's all Winnie the Pooh
Candies and peppermints
Almost have a complete set
But I don't have a Tigger yet
Ah, but if you look into my room
You'll see that I'm quite consumed
Cause I've stacked things up to the ceiling
I collect Winnie the Pooh

Excellent, Tim... but tell me: have you actually got the *books*?
Great pacing, and a cute look at obsessive fandom *outside* sci-fi, fantasy or anime circles (yes, other characters and shows have that kind of devoted following too!). This is a limited edition comment, signed and numbered 555...
Nope. Don't got the books. I know people who know people, though. It's all hush hush. I just feel surrounded by Pooh fans.
Surrounded by "Pooh fans"... are those the ones that get hit when someone says "The Pooh will hit the fan"?
Good job. Life ain't easy for a bear named Pooh.
