Parody Song Title:

"Sneezin Jean"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

Jean, Jean, your nose is so red
All your Kleenex are green
And you're feeling so low
Cause you've got a bad cold
Stay out of the meadow, Jean

Jean, Jean, you don't have much drive
Your nose should be in a sling
And take, if you will, another cold pill
Fall into bed, bonnie Jean

Til the ache in your head starts to dissipate
Til your jars of Nyquil start running low
When your nose is a'runnin, Kleenex are comin, for.....

Jean, Jean, your nose is so red
All of your Kleenex are green
While your eyes are aglaze
With that stuffy-head haze
Fall into your bed, bonnie Jean

Jean, Jean, you don't have much drive
Your nose should be in a sling
So take, if you will, another cold pill
Fall into your bed, bonnie Jean

This parody is very funny. I happened to have just heard this song (a portion of it) online, and I've always considered the song "Jean" by Oliver a favorite (along with many others). I thought that the rhyming would be a little more like the song, but the humor about "all of the Kleenex have gone green" was great. I grew up with this song, and I enjoyed it then and still enjoy it whenever I rarely hear it get played, and I definitely enjoyed the parody.

Matt, you're right, the late Oliver did record this song; Rod McKuen wrote it, and may have recorded it also, but Oliver's recording was the one that was the hit. Oliver had a great voice and it seems like one of the match-ups of a great song with a great singer---sometimes it's not all done by one person!
