Song Parodies -> Bad Series of Subway
| Original Song Title: | "Don't Sleep In the Subway" |
| Original Performer: | Petula Clark |
| Parody Song Title: | "Bad Series of Subway" |
| Parody Written by: | Michael Pacholek |
After the way the Yankees just played against the Red Sox, and the way the Mets just played against the Phillies, the series that starts Friday night, June 12 -- weather permitting -- might be the least consequential "subway series" since the Dodgers and Giants were still in New York. (Note the lower-case lettering: "Subway Series" is only allowed to be capitalized if it's a World Series. Yankee Fans know this. Met fans apparently do not.)
(instrumental opening)
You wander around
like your team that has clowned
and they don't have the why or the wherefore.
They play horribly
and you can't disagree.
Losing to rivals ain't what you care for.
I've heard it all too many times before.
Heard on both the 7 and the 4.
Bad series of subway, darling.
Both teams' fans will pray for rain.
Bad series of subway, darling.
October's gone.
Forget your foolish pride.
It's all wrong.
"They're great!" But you've lied yet again.
They try to be smart
but then they just fall apart
and it hurts when your ego is deflated
Woo, woo, woo.
They don't realize
the Mets must beat Philly guys
and the Boston team is overrated.
Goodbye to Playoffs, we won't make that show.
So why pretend to these games we'll go?
Bad series of subway, darling.
Both teams' fans will pray for rain.
Bad series of subway, darling.
October's gone.
Forget your foolish pride.
It's all wrong.
"They're great!" But you've lied yet again.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Bad series of subway, darling.
Both teams' fans will pray for rain.
Bad series of subway, darling.
October's gone.
Forget your foolish pride.
It's all wrong.
"They're great!" But you've lied yet again.

Great song for this.
Man, was that a mess over the weekend...
Well, it may not have been all that consequential, but it sure was interesting!
I liked your parody very much, Michael.
I'll stop there...;-)

2 of 3 isn't bad, I was surprised those are the same team that almost swept the Red Sox.
